The Watchtower / GB says they speak the truth !

The "Truth" ? they can`t handle the "Truth" !

The Bible says God`s word is truth, John 17:17 but all we have is what other people claim GOD said.

My experience is truth is relative depending on perspective, person, place and occasion. One man's truth is another man's poison, think of religion.

Simon's succinct Definition of " Truth" is excellent : " Truth survives the fire of intense scrutiny and critique and is both logically and factually accurate."

We have to add the caveat that "truth" is not Absolute, it is just possible that new Facts may emerge which modify, or very occasionally even overturn, what we previously thought of as "truth".

This is more so in our own time, because of the speed with which modern Science is making new discoveries.

But, if we really have subjected our "Truth" to the " fire of intense scrutiny" and that scrutiny has been carried out by Experts in the field which we are questioning, then we can be sure, if our "truth" survives this, that it will suffice at the present.

To not do this is to leave ourselves wide open to being manipulated, controlled and totally suckered by false claims, if our Education on things comes only from the MSM, and random people on the Internet, we are likely to be as ignorant and enslaved as we were as JW's by some different, but equally insidious nonsense.

the facts are absolute, truth, our view of them, not. One thing is, that all the facts we know are of the past. which does not exist any more.

For all we know, the sun we see, could have disappeared 500 seconds ago. Even what we see, hear now, can be distorted, delayed, think of gravitational lensing, the time gap between lightning and thunder.

science will give us better eyes and ears to narrow the gap between facts and our knowledge of them aka "the truth". for the theme of this site,

    JWfacts is better than JWtruth.

    Truth is objective reality.

E.g. I can accept the existence of gravity or not, but if I jump off Beachy Head only one thing's gonna happen, lol.

Yeah...Pontious Pilate say too: "The truth, what's the truth?"

What is truth is not necessarily fact. I think the main difference between truth and falsity is the intent. Truth tends to line up with reality and is generally done with no harmful intent.

Someone can be sworn in as a witness at a trial. They swear to answer truthfully. What they say may not be factual, but it is what they remember and the answer is not a false answer,

Truth are stories. even scientific papers, equations, or articles about them.

some are told to teach moral truth to young females: the talking snake, little red riding hood and the wolf.

wItness, at their baptism, swear so to speak, to proclaim wt truth ., wholly based on the talking snake tale, and obey the wt organisation, creating a new reality for them , the wt truth. so:

new facts can be created. not all pretty. often only facades.

sadly, fiction is more popular than science knowledge, the look behind it all.

What is the truth, depends often on the domain.

Example: Does Sun rise every morning from the east, and set every evening on the west? Yes or no?

Yes. That is what we witness everyday. We use that fact to time-space orientation since ever (because our dwelling is limited to surface of the Earth, but that wasn't the question).

No. Sun doesn't "rise" or "set". It is the Earth which rotate around its axis (scientifically correct fact, but mostly useless and ignored in everyday life).

Without gravity, the air in the atmosphere has no reason to hang around, and it would immediately leap into space. ... Without an atmosphere, any living thing would die immediately and anything liquid would boil away into space. In other words, no one would last long if the planet didn't have gravity.

This process is called cellular respiration. During cellular respiration the cell uses oxygen to break down sugar. Breaking down sugar produces the energy your body needs. This is very similar to wood burning in a fire.

Oxygen plays a critical role in respiration, the energy-producing chemistry that drives the metabolisms of most living things. We humans, along with many other creatures, need oxygen in the air we breathe to stay alive. Oxygen is generated during photosynthesis by plants and many types of microbes.

The human heart is an organ that pumps blood throughout the body via the circulatory system, supplying oxygen and nutrients to the tissues and removing carbon dioxide and other wastes.

The lungs absorb oxygen from the air you breathe in and transfer it into your bloodstream so that it can get to every part of your body. As the cells in your body work, they produce a waste gas called carbon dioxide that is released into the bloodstream. Your lungs get rid of this waste gas when you breathe out.

The list is endless and it's key to move, as our bodies were not designed for lazy living they were designed to move. The human body is made up of 360 joints and over 700 muscles and our vascular and nervous system depend on movement to function

The human body can't live without some sodium. It's needed to transmit nerve impulses, contract and relax muscle fibers (including those in the heart and blood vessels), and maintain a proper fluid balance.

Their shape allows them to act in the same way as a spring, bearing the weight of the body and absorbing the shock produced during locomotion. The flexibility conferred to the foot by these arches facilitates functions such as walking and running.

The examples can go on and on. We are surrounded by science. None of this science is random. This is the Truth.
