Interesting that property damage should be promptly reported to the police in contrast with child abuse reporting policy.

Konceptual99 It looks that way, they will have to tell her not to give the password to you in order for them to obey the org's policy which states or they will tell you not to ask for it from anyone.

If it is determined that a publisher should no longer have access to the Internet at the Kingdom Hall, the elders should change the password. The publisher should not be allowed access until the elders are convinced that the individual has rectified his conduct.

The problem is that by enforcing this law they are potentially placing females at odds with their husbands, their head. An obedient male JW not in good standing would not ask for it. However, the password is only to be given to publishers in good standing so there will be some non JW marriage partners that will find this just another ridiculous rule.

They've just introduced a new form of discipline. This discipline means that they will be ostracizing not only disfellowshipped ones but also those who have been mildly disciplined.

The password has to be given out individually rather than making a general announcement. They are going to look even more stupid to members of the public who attend a meeting. Imagine a Brother going around to everyone and virtually whispering a password to them or writing it on a piece of paper and handing it to them. It is a cult after all.

Internet password. Does 4G not exist in the US? Genuine question!

I don't think there's really much new in this letter, apart from the obvious realization that some dodo has had that it might just be easier to have one letter with all the information in one place rather than spreading it all about in NINETEEN letters from the last TWENTY-FIVE YEARS.

After all, the WT's house of cards is falling down, so why have a house of letters instead when just one will do

    1. This letter has been added to the list of policy letters that will be cited in Index to Letters for Bodies of Elders (S-22) and replaces the letters dated January 1, 1991; November 2, 1995; April 15, 1997; May 30, 2000; July 30, 2002; August 1, 2003; December 31, 2005; January 8, 2008; December 11, 2009; December 20, 2009; June 11, 2011; April 8, 2014; June 9, 2014; March 30, 2015; October 14, 2015; October 15, 2015; October 26, 2015; May 13, 2016; and September 23, 2016; to all bodies of elders.

"Whether the property title or deed, is held in the name of a local corporation or trustee arrangement or .... no congregation should conclude that it "owns" the property"

Isn't that the way the ORG deals with everything? No matter what is said in court about congregation or individual autonomy they have none. Never mind the legal framework, obey us. So there it is in writing. I think a lawyer could make much of that statement.

If you are a lurker on this site and you don't think you are in a cult, read over the 11 pages of rules.

So the Kingdom Hall is dedicated to Jah but we can sell it to a church, with NO problem. Hmm! This was done in our congregation. So it is frowned upon for me to attend a wedding or funeral at a church but WT can sell a dedicated to Jah KH to a church? You just can't make this stuff up!

LURKERS...WAKE UP...YOU ARE IN A CULT! VOTE WITH YOUR FEET AND WALLET!

All may have a share, including children who are properly supervised.

You wonder who should supervise as it is said that Elders nor MS are ever alone with minors......

Each congregation should assign an elder or a ministerial servant to serve as the cleaning coordinator. He is not responsible for performing all of the cleaning work himself, nor does he have the authority to make decisions that should be made by the body of elders

And yes, we, WBTS are not like other mainstream religions, because we do not have a hierarchy in the congregation......

It is expected that the majority of the maintenance and repair work will be done by local volunteers from the congregations using the Kingdom Hall and that the costs for such work will be covered by the congregations

Volunteering is expected. Nice...Of course, do not ask us to pay for repairs.....

    Branch Risk Management Desk

Really?? Curious about what risks they manage....

It is important that the elders be enthusiastic about and supportive of the maintenance training provided by the LDC

    Truly sincere enthusiasm !!

It is imperative that the brother selected be well-organized and diligent, yet submissive to the body of elders

    Wow... be submissive to elders....

Congregation expenses include the reimbursement of the circuit overseer

Not sure but was Paul reimbursed ? Or Jesus? So much for following first century model......

If funds accumulate in excess of the amounts described in paragraphs 23 and 24, the elders should consider whether to recommend that the congregation(s) pass a resolution to donate the excess funds to Kingdom Hall and Assembly Hall construction worldwide.

Not could but SHOULD...and what worldwide construction do they mean? About all is on hold......

Unless there are extreme extenuating circumstances, the Life and Ministry Meeting is to be held during the week

Oh my god, imagine if we missed that life saving meeting ....

    During the Memorial season

Hmm...where can I find this in the scriptures.....

Hence, if a publisher were to use the Kingdom Hall connection to access inappropriate websites, his connectivity privilege would be revoked.

I truly wonder how they are going to monitor this.....

knowing that our Kingdom Halls play a major role in supporting true worship in this time of the end

Really?/ I thought Jesus said that rue worship in not by sight and buildings (temple) would no longer be needed / used..

John 4:24 God is spirit, and the people who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

John 4:21 Jesus said to her, “Believe me, woman,50 a time 51 is coming when you will worship 52 the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.

and bring praise and honor to our loving heavenly Father, Jehovah

Wrong....JW are merely His friend (if you are lucky...). And again proof that Jesus does not play any role, despite Him being the head of the congregations.....

Renting a kingdumb hall for long-term use is a current thing? Or is it becoming more common as they sell off the halls?

It's rare in the US but is pretty common in Europe, especially in the bigger cities.

And remember this will be an international 'catch-all' letter, so they need to cover all bases.

WTF? Do they think they are the only ones providing freaking wifi? In some cities in US wifis are jamming your head everywhere.

Jesus! The only thing they have to do is claim that they invented wifi...
