Proliferates literature containing hate speach toward humans whose sex, sexuality, ethic religous, political and cultural differences do not square with WT ideas of what is acceptable

Don't you see that this is EXACTLY what some of you are advocating that Governments do?? What right do you have to enforce upon me your "acceptable" view on such things as religion, sexuality, cultural and political ideology? These sorts of things cannot be enforced unless a tyranny is set up (history shows this to be the case with the leftist marxism/communism movements, ironically the direction Russia seems to be headed)

If you want to influence ppl into certain ideologies, you do it with information. You teach, educate, and patiently the market of ideas will create winners and losers. It takes time, but its the only right way to do it.

DJS, you are quite disrespectful and obviously do not read my posts as you continue talking about honor killings and bakers serving LGBT weddings. So, I will not waste my time arguing with you.

Complete and utter bullshit: "If you want to influence ppl into certain ideologies, you do it with information. You teach, educate, and patiently the market of ideas will create winners and losers. It takes time, but its the only right way to do it."

That is of course one of the things you do. But to think government is going to sit idly by and let classes of people experience discrimination or other groups of people cause harm to society due to their teachings and behaviors without creating controls on those societal contamination factors is beyond ridiculous and really doesn't deserve to be part of a rational, intelligent conversation.

According to you (Libertarian I'm certain) the Civil Rights Laws, the Womens' Suffrage Laws, the Environmental Laws, the Wage and Hour Laws, et al, are a complete waste of time.

The only thing exceeding your irrational and childish responses is your lack of self control in approaching the keyboard. Your 'contribution' is far more disrespectful than anything I've said.

The US is starting to control hate speech. Our corporations and capitalist entities are already doing so. Just ask the governors of NC and Indiana. Hate speech laws are becoming the norm in more and more W governments. What the DarkLords preach is HATE, and it deserves to be controlled.

History and the data show that these laws WORK. They are EFFECTIVE. I will be happy to post the data if that will help you.

Please @DJS, tell us what you think about what Russia is doing to its gay population right now.

He's not worth arguing with. This elitist, wiser-than-thou complex is engraved in some here and sadly it's the very thing they claim to be fighting against within the JW org.

The hysterical, reactionary, irrational, mindset is deeply engrained with some on this site. They aren't worth arguing with. Including the Libertarians. Oh wait, I'm being redundant.

And Barrold, I see you are back from 'reading' your latest child porn 'literature.'

I believe Russias stance on gays is disgusting.

I also believe it is short lived.

Anything else chimps, I mean chaps?

Thankfully, most courts of human rights agree with this "hysterical, reactionary, irrational mindset".

I fully agree with you Sanchy. You are also right that Russia has an unenviable record when it comes to gay rights.

My point is not that Russia is right to do this...but only that I understand WHY Watchtower is seen as an extremist religion with extremist views.

Further to your excellent point that in the market of ideas winners will come through .......when well researched information is placed before people they inevitably make the right choices.

But we have to remember that WT does not ALLOW its members to access said information and education, that its members may then make up their own minds.....they forbid them to access any information that may challenge WT agenda......that is when I believe the authorities have the right to protect the public.

Lloyd, I mean Sanchy, I thought you and Harold, I mean Barrold, were going to be a tag team.

More specious BS. You have to be a follower of the Queen of Specious, Ayn Rand. You are telling me that the 'court of human rights' would view physical or sexual child abuse any differently than they would the coerced baptism of a 10 year old who faced a life of shunning if he/she screwed up (pun intended) 7 years later????? Or a minor child allowed to die because of being forced to deny a blood transfusion?????

You really think this court of human rights would view the destruction of families caused by this hateful cult any differently than they would other human rights' issues?

These are the specific issues identified by the Russian prosecutor and adjudicated by the Russian Supreme Court in the prosecution's favor and in align with a 14 year old law.

Your trying to link these specific issues with human rights' issues is absurd. Religious freedom and freedom of conscience are contingent on the impact they have on both the individual and society. I really do hate repeating myself. Follow along, please.

Talk about specious. Yes, such courts world wide have stood up time and time again for the right of individuals, yes, even JWs, to practice their faith freely. Do some research.
