Are You Fully Accomplishing Your Ministry?

The study article starts off with praise and admiration for members who are out in the field ministry. The WTBTS understand that you have family responsibilities, work, get sick, and have pains due to aging. Jehovah values and appreciates even the smallest amount of service. Not everyone produces the same amount of fruitage.

1CHRIST JESUS commanded his followers to “go, . . . and make disciples of people of all the nations.” (Matt. 28:19)

2We may have to work secularly many hours a day to provide the necessities of life for ourselves and our family. We may struggle with other family responsibilities, sickness, depression, or the aches and pains of advancing age.

3 If our circumstances limit the amount of time we can spend in Jehovah’s service, we should not feel discouraged. Jesus knew that not every one of us would be able to produce the same amount of Kingdom fruitage. (Read Matthew 13:23.) Jehovah highly values everything we do in his service as long as we are doing our best.

Now, comes the sledgehammer. Why ain't you doing enough? What excuses do you have, now? Here are some suggestions if you are a slacker and need to create more service hours. We are not pleased with your efforts.

4 Simply put, to accomplish our ministry fully, we must have as full a share as possible in the preaching and teaching work.

8 We are willing to sacrifice personal comfort to engage in the evangelizing work.

10 If we are unable to do much walking, we might be able to sit in a public area where we can preach to passersby. Or we might be able to witness informally, write letters, or do telephone witnessing.

13 For example, could we adjust our secular working hours so that we can spend more time in the ministry during the week? Could we reduce some recreational activities that may be very time-consuming?

*Increase my preaching activity during the circuit overseer’s visit or during the Memorial season

    LOL.

Replace "we" in your "sledgehammer" section with "you" to get a better sense of what they mean.

To get an even better feel, imagine Tony Morris reading those sentences, with "you", with the same facial expression and tone of voice he used when he talked about "tight pants" a few years ago.

To get the full effect, do the above, but replace "we" with "you dirt-sicking worms".

The GB's contempt for the average JWs really shines through, in articles like this one.

And dont forget, if you are not doing enough, you should feel GUILTY about it!

It is the old FOG method again:

    FEAR

    OBLIGATION

    GUILT

Here's another comment we had heard one time from a CO: The reason why some are pioneering is because the others are not as spiritual as we are. I wanted to walk out then and should have!

These were the kind of WT studies that eventually started my slow fade away. That constant guilting and contempt ridden article. Just more than I could handle. The contempt of the GB really shone through at the average JW.

They say they want you to be effective in your ministry but I'm convinced that the GB aren't concerned in the slightest, with the closeness of the end or getting the word out. Imagine what would happen if a wealthy JW or a group of JW's wanted to "fully accomplish" their ministry by purchasing television air time to give the same presentation they would have in used the door to door ministry. They'd say they were running past Jehovah's celestial chariot and not humbly following the direction of the "Slave" who in reality want to keep their members on a never ending treadmill of busy work.

    Oh yeah Pete Zahut,

“Imagine what would happen if a wealthy JW or a group of JW's wanted to "fully accomplish" their ministry by purchasing television air time to give the same presentation they would have in used the door to door ministry. Back when I was enthusiastic about spreading the message (quite some time now) I thought of many things that they could be doing that would be more effective than just knocking on doors, just goes to show that these spiritual giants are marketing pygmies.

Guess it is all part of the plan to keep you so busy that you don't have time to look up.
