That's really interesting statistics. They'll never again baptise as many as they did in 1975.

It stands to reason there were a lot left after 1995 when the generation promise was dropped.

Janusfulcrum, they are actually shutting down LDCs? I hadn't heard that or about the meeting you mentioned in CA.
  • janusfulcrum
Yes, that's what I heard, from two sources. One attended the meeting via phone, reported six. The other source didnt attend, but was told about it.

Janusfulcrum, that info probably deserves its own thread.

finally got around to figuring in the death rates. total number of baptized from the 1969 service year through the 2015 service year, with death rates figured in at 1% is 1,462,208. One question i have is, what percentage of publishers are unbaptized? 10-15%?

Dis you mean roughly 140k? Because the total baptized is roughly 1.7m and you wrote 1.4m roughly? So if I'm correct out of the roughly 500k missing 140k are dead? I think the death rate of 1% is to high in this case because most baptized since 1975 would be kids and young adults,, really screwing up the death ratio.

The death rate worldwide is about 0.8%, and varies by country. If anything, the JW population now is older than average (just look around any assembly), so 1% is a reasonable estimate.
