Religion News article By Lauren Markoe.

Some interesting points in the article. The study follows the publication earlier this year of a book

by study co-author and PRRI founder Robert P. Jones, titled "The End of White Christian America".

The name "nones" are people who claim no affiliation with religion, they outnumber any religious denomination.

According to the poll-which has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5 percent-age points-the nones have

outstripped the single largest group of Americans:Catholics, who are now 21 percent of the adult population.

The next largest group, white evangelical Protestants, represent 16 percent.

Some interesting facts, "pasadenastarnews. com under Faith......

Maybe the End is near, Beelzebub is winning.

Well, that makes sense because America has the most atheists of any nation in the entire world. It really goes to show you how far this country has fallen when most people don't believe or even have any type of spirituality for the most part. Hopefully that changes in a few years but honestly it might take longer like a few decades to get everything back in place. But you know I think religion will take on a new form because God knows what everyone needs and it probably won't be like previously but it will be better hopefully that's true.

"I wouldn't say we are destined to become a completely secular country by any

means, but we are venturing into uncharted waters in terms of our religious identity." say Cox

Looter, do you ever research anything you say? Ever? The US is WAY down the list of most atheistic countries.

    Google it. Geesh.

AND, the more atheist a country the more likely it is to be at peace,, functional, ethical, free of corruption and have a more equtable society.

Looter I don't know where you get your information that stats I've seen state that America is one of the last western countries left that is so religious. There's way more atheist per capita in places like Scandinavia , Russia and China .

Roxanne Stone, a former editor at Christianity Today stated:Less religious affiliation doesn't

necessarily mean that people are less likely to be believers than they used to be...

looter: Between .07%-0.1% of the federal prison population are Atheists. Stone traces this

apathy to the dwindling importance for many young people of community groups and other

institution-including churches-in this increasingly mobil society. Most still believe in God, but

there's a growing sense of disillusionment with institutions. The point Stone was making , why

young folks don't want to vote.

People are leaving religion because the facts as revealed by modern scientific evidence as well as continued archaeology and the indisputable geological record of this planet continue to disprove 'intelligent design' of any means as well as the bible and other religious texts; they fall more in line with a sometimes violent (mutation) but mostly painfully slow evolution over eons of time. It does not 'jibe' with religion in almost any form so people are leaving it behind. It's a good thing. The most religious countries on the planet are the most illiterate, violent, backwards and economically desolated communities whereas the more secular countries have a more stable community across the board.

There is a reason we call the most 'religious' time period in Europe "The Dark Ages." Religion devastated the continent. We are still paying the cost in modern times of that evil time.

Would it make a difference if Religious leaders proclaimed, Adam was the first spiritual man and

many of the stories in the Bible was written by men who was under the influence of drugs?

God have not had any dealing with mankind, His attention have been focused on another world.

He left Satan in charge, He's a good angel.
