I'm working nightshifts at the minute, so I work 7 nights then have a week off. On top of this I get the equivalent of 36days leave, although if my shift falls on a national holiday I have to work it.

33 paid days which include national holidays.

We can take one day of each quarter as a duvet day(did I spell that right?).

I'm with that other Texan (Xena) on this one. Y'all suck!

I work for a very small co. and get 1 (one) week (5 friggin') days vacation per annum (albeit, whether I deserve it or not). --- and that is no matter how long employeed! No (none, zero, nada, nil...) personal days. So I tend to take vacation around a holiday and if I need to just take an extra day or two without pay I'll do that so as to get close to 2 weeks off. ....y'all suck!

edited to add an essential "o"

I work for the federal government. Generally federal government pay is thought to be less than the private sector, but the vacation and holidays are pretty hard to beat. I don't remember exactly how many federal holidays, I think about 11, but who gets off President's Day or Martin Luther King's holiday except for the banks. I accrued vacation at 4 hours per bi-week when I started and after my 3 yr anniversary it is 6 per bi week so that comes to almost 20 days per year with 26 biweeks in a year. If you stay for 15 years it goes up to 8 per bi-week. I haven't felt any guilt about vacation. In fact there's several reminders a year telling you that you cannot carry over more than 240 hours of vacation per year. And each pay statement includes an estimate of the amount of vacation time you will lose if you don't take any more vacation before the end of the year. There's no limit on sick time carry-over which accrues at 4 hours per bi-week and never increases.

When I worked for myself I don’t think I ever took a day off, except of course for the all important disassemblies. Now I get 15 personal days to use as I see fit, 10 holidays to participate in pagan and nationalistic festivals, and a bunch of unofficial freebie hours to take care of various personal business. But you know... if I had an appreciation for the bountiful food Jehovah provides, I could be wasting investing this time off I have in a hot-smelly cool-refreshing assembly, with all my brothers and sisters who conditionally truly love me.

I get 15 days per year, but I usually squander the time. The last real vacation we took was going to Pennsylvania for 8 or 9 days in 2000.

I get the equivalent of 21 paid holidays, three weeks (15 days) of vacation time, 2 personal days, and 12 sick days off a year.

I work for the uk government, and would not do my job for the pay and conditions in the private sector. They get a lot less money, and the working conditions are terrible.

I work for an Indian Casino as a bartender. I'm fortunate in working for a great employer who offers full benefits. I've been there 9 years and have 22 paid vacation days left this year (I've already used a couple days and given a week each to 2 hospitalized employees) 4 sick days, Funeral Leave, and they have an hour bank for pregnancies. Our vacation pay accrues based on hours worked and you can bank up to 200 hours vacation time from one year to the next. Most people where I live get no benefits and are lucky if they get any paid vacations at all. It's all mining around here and the mines are all closing down leaving many with few job options let alone ones with any sort of benefits or pay.
