RedhorseWoman, A timeshare? How blessed you are. I
come to Newport to sketch and paint. We may have even passed each other on the street-small world. Ocean Drive is the most beautiful 10 mile or so stretch in the world. IMO. I thought I would make the Jazz Festival next month but due to a new business venture I'm going to have to wait until fall. Plan on getting a horsesitter, I'll let you know in plenty of time.
I paint mostly seascapes and boats. I completed one last fall of Mohegan Bluffs after visiting Block Island. I love the seafood-breakfast,lunch and dinner! You can keep that Narragansett Ale or Beer or whatever. Whew!! Is that nasty!

Fall is a great time in Newport. Most of the tourists have left, but there's still plenty of life left in the city. Our timeshare week is in the late Fall to early Spring period.

I love going there close to Christmas time. All the shops are decorated so beautifully. We've gone there in February, which is still a nice time...especially to view the ocean (I just love the look of the ocean in Winter)....but it is COLD then!!

Narragansett beer is still around? For some reason I thought they had gone out of business.

By all means, let me know when you're out this way. Bring carrots for the Red Horse!!

Waiting I'm sure we have a cute name for them here too, but I'm not game to ask anyone

Sorry about the spelling mistake. Over the next few days I will 'discreetly?' ask around to see what the aussie peculiarities are for these types of delicacies. We use 'sweetbreads' for cooked brains (also the pancreas), here too, I think it is an English name isn't it? I wonder if that is why my parents called me 'sweety' when I was younger?

One of my Mum's favourite dishes is tripe with onions and white sauce. Uggh! I don't have a taste for any of the internal organs used in gastronomic delicacies. I don't even like the 'kidney' in the common 'ole steak and kidney pie!

See Red not only 'minimal gustatory experience' but 'taste' too! The 'hoagie' I know and I believe I will have a coffee cabinet after all thanks. Hey I would have known exactly what you were looking for if you had asked me for the 'bubbler'. We have them in most of the school yards here as well as parks and some public buildings etc. So we're not that backward after all?

7 sorry for the unnecessary question, I completely missed Red's post about Don B. (Did I tell you I was cross-eyed as well as ignorant?) I have never seen any of his work but I enjoy the 'Far Side' type of humour.

I love seascapes. Is there any way we can ever prevail upon you for a sample of your work you talented lady?

One of the best Aussie words I've heard (and marveled at) is removalist.....those people who come to your house and removal your furniture to your new place.

    Hey Red,

Now that's a neat word. So expressive without being over done. Doesn't sound like English convict talk to me, how 'bout you?

    waiting
