    Walter!

Since using this, I don't snore at all, and my quality of sleep, and quality of life has improved tremendously. My overall disposition improved greatly as well.

Are you serious?????? I never thought about THAT.

They found I had sleep apnea, and that I stopped breathing 127 times throughout that night. That was due to the airways closing.

Did you keep waking up all the time? My husband says he can't sleep laying down. Funny thing is.....I always find him in the morning laying down sleeping. But he usually props his back semi-sitting - says he can breath easier.

I'm not falling asleep at work or while driving anymore, and have more energy throughout the day.

I might just show this thread to my husband................

Thanks so much for the information - from the other responders also!

By the way, I had a referral from my doctor to see a specialist to perform the sleep study, but I'm sure someone can get into a clinic without a referral. It may just take longer.

The apnea, as I understand it, causes the person to stop breathing for a period of time, and once the oxygen level in the blood drops too much, the person starts gasping for breath. This causes a person to rarely, if ever, reach certain necessary stages of sleep. It's hard on the heart as well.

One thing to remember is that if a person is diagnosed with a sleep disorder, and refuses treatment, his doctor can arrange for him to lose his drivers license, as he can be a real hazzard on the road. I used to have to pull over for a break every hour when driving so I wouldn't fall asleep. I don't have that problem anymore.

One benefit of the sleep apnea was that I always had an excuse to sleep through meetings at the kingdom hall. The downside was the sore ribs from my wife's elbow.

Excellent! Thanks Walter, I knew you had some important information related to this sleep related problem.

I would hope, anyone experiencing the debilitating sleep apnea will deal with it sooner than later.

It was important too, that you mentioned about a physician's power to possibly contact DMV and have a person denied a drivers license as a result.

Nothing like a comfortable restful sleep, and an equally happy partner sleeping soundly beside you.

    Thanks again Walter!

My buddy Razor is right. You need to go to a lung specialist and have a sleep test and get a CPAP machine. It's the only thing that really works. I've just gotten one. I"m finally getting some sleep I'm really so happy about that.

I'm still on vacation in atlanta. I just dropped in for the funnel of it.

Does he stop breathing at times while he is sleeping/snoring? If so, that is a sure sign of sleep apnea. I know this because my ex husband has it.

Hold a pillow firmly over his face for several minutes until you don't hear anything else.

Snoring is one of my many many failings. I think this would probably be the only cure for me.

    Hey Tex!

o poo. I tried that one. He woke up in the nick of time - every friggin' time!. Tried the ribs, roll over, *sleep* kick in the ribs, roll over, roll over, roll over............until I used to roll out to the couch highly irritated.

    Hey Walter!

I told my husband about your success.........and he was mildly interested. He won't do nuthin' I say....I told him a MAN said it. He nodded.

I'm going to push the subject (which is soooooooo unlike me) - and see if I can get him to consent to the sleep study.

I just thought he was normally grouchy & sleepy & snores all the time. Go figure!
