"I believe that, basically, since Adam and Eve's sin, God has decided to let humans see if they can rule themselves, because that is what Adam and Eve wanted to do -- they wanted to choose for themselves what "good" and "bad" was."

I have seen some extraordinary examples of superior, super-human reasoning in my life, but this certainly isn't one of them. The very idea that because in the dim and distant past, the so-called "original pair" of human beings screwed up somehow, that God has sentenced the entire human race to get along without his help is perhaps the most brain-dead, absurd, stupid and generally drooling from the mouth piece of crap pretending to be reasoning I've ever seen.

Your idea of the nature and character of God is somewhere in the tenth basement parking deck, the one just above the sewer. The very idea of original sin is an affront to the Living God and should be to each and every one of his children, as should be the atonement doctrine.

In fact, the above "reasoning" is so lacking in anything resembling consistency with the ideals of the creator it deserves no more comment from me. And it's author needs to have his/her head examined next time s/he passes by a vegetable stand.

At 10 years old I was getting up on Sunday mornings - by myself - and going to Sunday School. When I found that didn't cleanse me or bring the peace or help I sought I went upstairs to the church service. I prayed so hard for God to help me, for my daddy to stop hurting me. I don't think He was listening and that made me feel more unworthy. This whole concept of a loving Father was so foreign to me - still is. I believe He exists but have a hard time believing He cares.

Some people tell me that God helped when I got the second infection. My father was reported that time (long complicated story)

But why would it take two infections. Why would it take years of abuse for God to listen.

Other people tell me it was for a good cause because now I help others.

I love what I do but would have preferred a little godly help that is supposed to be available

Believing God cares for little children is really hard

In your original post you pose good questions. Mankind will continue to hurt each other in a variety of ways. Many ways are truly personal and barbaric. Hence the reason for the death penalty.

As you know, few, with the exception of some other country other than the USA, NOBODY gets the death sentence for rape. I feel that the death sentence swiftly carried out would lower the percentage of this sort of crime.

However, who is trustworthy enough other than GOD, to carry it out? how many innocent (if there is such a thing) people would be framed, and die?

Mankind cannot be trusted---period. So, as life goes on, "we" as humans do the best we can. Governments, as screwed up as they are, ARE made up of people that are supposed to represent the average everyday person. As you know, this is not the case. That is why "people do what they have to do" to protect themselves and family.

    Super Short Brief Explanation:

Why does God not answer cries for help? Mankind must be allowed to run the human course with all of the fierce cruelty, death, destruction and general mayhem. For God, his Angels and "others" to always step in when asked to; would interrupt the natural order established to prove God's sovereignty and right as creator to direct his will for the benefit of all of Humanity. Sure, God can and does whatever he wants. No creature high or low have challenged his power. Only his "righteous way and chosen perfect path." When this happened, God allowed Humankind to form and decide their own destiny and civilization. All of the bad and all of the good things will happen until God's point has been proven to his satisfaction. There is nothing Humans can do about it other than "deal with the good and bad each day of life."

Now, obviously, as a society, many things including self protection, laws, etc. can be used to form a measure of protection for everybody.

Anyway, I still think that if more people were put to death for crimes such as rape, these crimes would drop in number!!

Then what happens? After God has been satisfied? End of the world? If not the end what is the point? God allows humankind to start over again, to rely on mans interrpretation of history books, another account of the Bible to assure we as humans stay in line? What point would be proven to those dead and gone?

    I don't "get" it.

    Cassiline,

    Hi, how are things?

As hard as this is to say: Humans are not suppose to have all of the answers. If we did, why would we need a God? Please remember the WE are the creation. When the time is right, as determined by God, WE will have all of the knowledge to answer the burning questions each of us have within our own hearts and minds..........Your questions will be answered and you will know peace.

Then what, pray tell, is the point of prayer?

If little children can be raped and tortured and be taught to pray to God who will answer their prayer while God waits for his own good time - why do that to people.

There just isn't anything loving about that.

Either God loves them and will help them when they pray or why teach them that?

For additional information, see earlier posts.

For any answers that are obviously directed to God and only he can answer, That is between the individual and God.

Pouring one's personal stories and heartfelt troubles on an open forum can be detrimental to everyone concerned in a variety of ways and could cause more harm than good.

    Caution is strongly advised.

Thank you for the warning Mr Kim

I have nothing to hide. If someone wants to make trouble for me - let them try.

Honesty has always worked best for me. Lies and secrecy only protects the abusers and their supporters. I refuse to be a part of that any longer

    Lady Lee,

I agree with you. Send the troublemakers my way. I have been itching to kick some butt anyhow. (hope my wife don't read this)

    (((((((Lee))))))))) and ((((((Cassi))))))

I'm so sorry for what you went through. An omnipotent god that needs to prove something to himself or to the angels and let children be abused this way is no god I want to know.
