Reports out of WT land indicate that the discourse surrounding the construction of insiders and outsiders is changing with possible consequences. This worm sees things differently from the WT.

Somehow we're back on the topic of various perspectives on the earth's shape! But the important point is that we are capable of seeing the same thing differently.

That is incorrect . There are HUGE differences between attempts to categorize humans into sub categories (ie β€œraces”) and in describing the physical shape of the planet we live on and therefore the physics of the universe.

What I find confusing about these "different perspectives" as applied to science is this:

An inch is an inch is a f***ing inch regardless of who is looking at it

It is an inch and your positioning will not change that unit of measurement

What label we stick on that unit is redundant and only is a reflection of our cultural positioning but it doesn't change that inch. It doesn't make that unit of measurement measure anything at all other than what it says it does

You are spot on crow. What can change is what that one inch means to the observer. To an ant, one inch is huge. To an elephant, not so much. The inch never changed.

Race is an observable and even definable characteristic but it dosent change the basic fact that person being described is human. The earth is fucking sphere no matter who may observe it or try to define it Otherwise. The physics of the universe depends on it. I am all for questioning the assumed realities but the flat earth thing is a preposterous troll exceeded only by any attempt to legitimize it by arguing over it.

    An inch of what?

Postmodernism has added precisely NOTHING to human knowledge.

It is nothing but a bunch of self-important poseurs congratulating each other for their latest inscrutable ramblings.

    sfb: An inch of what?

An inch of anything and everything or nothing at all

    just an inch

Do you not know what a "unit of measurement" is?

"What" that inch is measuring has nothing at all to do with defining the inch

The inch is defining the "what", the "what" that the inch measures does not define the inch

Inch is distance and that distance does not change regardless of "what" it is applied to

    Yes.

    Or take Pi for example

It's the circumference of a circle with a diameter of 1 regardless of the unit of measurement. .
