    Reborn,

While I do not by any means condone such actions, I will say that it would be just desserts for the Governing Body members and their ilk. The evil that they have perpetrated on society by blood doctrines which kill children, protecting child molesters, etc. a swift DEATH would be too merciful for them IMHO.

As we learned in COC, the GB operates in a majority rule fashion. This means that at various times not all GB members are voting in complete agreement. If your statement above had been applied prior to 1980, Ray Franz would have been among those targeted for retribution even though he did not always vote with the others also Swingle and others who did not vote to DF Ray Franz would have been targeted.

Today, we do not know who is for or against the blood policy or the other policies which are unChristian. It could very well be that if someone took revenge against some of the GB they could be killing the very brothers who sympathize with them.

Nevertheless, to incite to murder is wrong.

    Just my 2.

I am a bit perplexed by the response from people expressing dislike for the post.

Is it not a bit hypocritical? I mean I see naked pictures posted on this site, sexual innuendos tossed daily, foul-language and insults, political debate discussing murders and atrocities, and this guy mentions a hypothetical situation that could VERY realistically happen and people get bent out of shape. The topic is very much Jehovah's Witness related, and this is a JW discussion board last time I checked. No one said all JW topics would be green and fuzzy and warm.

In no way am I CONDONING this type of action, but the possibility that it could happen is very realistic given the environment of membership and the emotions it would invoke if one realized they were deceived for such a long period of time (not counting potentially losing family members and loved ones etc.)

Stop being childish and complaining about the content of the post. If you do not like it, do not respond to it or read it. I would feel differently if wiltshire encouraged such behavior or expressed a desire or intention to commit a violent act himself, but after reading his post, no where is that seen.

    Get over yourselves people.

I will go against the grain here and agree with Reborn. I think the scenerio here is a real possibility. Most of those who wake up late in life to discover that they were sold out go into a depression over it. Some however, get really pissed and kill people.

I think this is an important issue, and worthy of discussion.

Perhaps it is a valid topic for discussion, Larc. But the subject line is written as a statement, not a hypothetical. It is inflammatory and misleading.

Would it not have been more prudent to write: "What if....?" before the sentence?

This in no way compares to sexual innuendo.

Sadly I too don't think this is an impossible scenario. There was a bomb threat at the Calgary convention last year. At least a couple of kingdom halls have been set on fire. Some witness families have been murdered.

I think this is serious and could occur although I seriously hope not. It would be horrid if it happened and it would be doubly horrid to find out it happened in a congregation where someone here had a loved one who was still in.

I don't want to live with constant fear but I don't want blinders on either. I just finished taking them off.

As the WTS hurts more people there are bound to be some who are ill enough to exact retribution. And I think that IS a real possibility

    Scary isn't it?

    Larc,

Some however, get really pissed and kill people.

This is exactly why the initial post on this thread should be modified. Yes, there are people hurting and there are people who may not be thinking clearly because of that hurt.

But to even hint at a justification for taking violent action is, imo, doing them no good at all. They do not need justification for violence but rather a way to deal with their anger, a way to move on with their lives.

Thanks larc. Nice to know someone agrees with me for a change.

Duh. Do you think you are telling me something I did not already know? Thanks for the attempted instruction.

Nevertheless, even if they did not entirely agree with the vote, by their presence and absence of action they condone it. To condone such Watchtower teachings and "law" as the blood doctrine, which kills innocent people, including children, every year, is unforgivable. The blood on their hands is so thick that nothing could ever remove it in a thousand lifetimes.

Today, we do not know who is for or against the blood policy or the other policies which are unChristian. It could very well be that if someone took revenge against some of the GB they could be killing the very brothers who sympathize with them.

Read my response above. To keep a position in a corporation which grants such power and prestige to the individual so as to be worshiped as "godlike" even when you disagree with policies that directly affect people's LIVES is ethically and morally wrong. Non-action is condoning the behavior.

Nevertheless, to incite to murder is wrong.

I agree, even if some people deserve it.

I would like to thank all those that were generous enough to give me the benefit of the doubt.

I agree my subject may cause fright in some, but I feel it is a very real scenario, that should be broached with care(of coarse). I have tried to be careful in my wordings, none the less; we should be able to discuss this as mature adults.

"What ever a man is sowing that’s what he shall reap", I believe that is a genuine law of nature. I don’t feel the GB can keep sowing bad and not reap it. Please don’t ever think I would do them physical harm, I never will, God help me.

The more families they ruin, the more people they hurt, the more people die from their policies, the more likely they will met up some day with a scenario like I have mention, I very sure of it, and I think the GB are worried that this might happen too.

I look forward to more inteligent replys to this touchy subject.

    Reborn,

Duh. Do you think you are telling me something I did not already know? Thanks for the attempted instruction.

Reborn, I was not attempting to "instruct". I was just trying to set up the basis for the position I was taking.

If I offended you then I apologize.

Personally, I can't think of a nicer bunch of guys for it to happen to.

Stephanus, of the "remembers that there are thousands who have died unnecessarily because of the GB's majority rule blood policy" class
