Wow! Some here were quick to criticize the US Forces in Iraq as not being as dignified as their British counterparts when conducting war in Iraq.

What are the critics comments now?

Soldier 'took torture snaps' By Colin Adamson, Evening Standard 30 May 2003

A British soldier is today being questioned by Ministry of Defence war crimes investigators after the emergence of photographs showing disturbing scenes of alleged "torture" of Iraqi PoWs.

One of the photographs is reported to show an Iraqi PoW gagged and bound, hanging in netting from a fork-lift truck. Others allegedly depict soldiers committing sex acts near captured Iraqis.

Photograph developers are understood to have called the police because they were concerned about a number of pictures on a roll of film that had been handed in to their shop in Tamworth, Staffordshire, for developing by a soldier from the 1st Royal Regiment of Fusiliers recently returned from Iraq..........

I condemn these acts outright and think those responsible should be prosecuted to the maximum extent possible under UK and international law. In fact, should they not be treated the same as the people who they were supposedly going to prevent doing these things? Ship them to guantanamo bay.

I doubt you will get anyone defending them ThiChi ... only a complete idiot tries to defend the indefensible.

True, but I would like to hear "both sides" before I make a judgement.....

Oh, I think I get it! Tai Chi want's to hear some Brits get defensive about this. Is this what he meant by wanting to hear"both sides"? LOL.

I think you'll find that us brits are no where near as blindly patriarchal as the US. Yea,we recon that anyone who does wrong should recieve just punishment for their crime. Even if they are British. No we don't think that our country should be imune to War Crimes tribunals, or be exempt from stalling the rise of polution in the world. Be greatful that our PM coward to your President to allow some of our troops to acompany yours so you can use them for target practise when the war is going to easily.

I wauld call your country a bully, but I don't think you'll consider that an insult.

If they are guilty they should have their faces published around the world then prosecuted

You sound rather bitter. Not to mention a bit...off.

Ya know, it has been scientifically proven that hanging on to grudges speeds up the aging process. please avoid: Inciting hatred on the basis of race, religion, gender, nationality or sexuality or other personal characteristic.

When the word "allegedly" is no longer attached to this I'll get more worked up. What until something is proven. Anybody with access to Photoshop can doctor pictures.
