I enjoy listening to this radio channel when I drive all night just to stay awake and ponder. Conspiracy theories like Jimmy Carter,s alien encounter. He is claimed to have said that if he was elected president, he would reveal all the UFO secrets, but after he was elected, with tears in his eyes, he said if he were to reveal the truth, it would end religion as we know it. Maybe the Pope,s position was started by aliens, etc...

I did. And it was clearly a vehicle not a glowing ball of fire or light etc. I was also not alone. I still did not attribute it to ETs but top secret (probably CIA) craft. The reason we call it a UFO is there were there things about it that known existing technology is not capable of. So after seeing some thing like that your head is really tweaked. I guess it would be like someone in the 1800's seeing a cell phone or UAV drone. Just didn't make sense. Since then I've always been interested in the truth about these things. I have also found countless experiences of people who have see the exact same thing. Its not easy to talk about because people think you were smoking crack. But it really happened. So I follow all of it but it seems there equally or more nuttery and misinformation as actual sightings.

atomant, here's a link to the story from 1967 re the "Shag Harbour Incident" (Nova Scotia), which involved many witnesses, the RCMP, and NORAD. There's a video on youtube, which I'll also link.

These things don't get discussed much here. It's considered wacko by the science police, along with anything that remotely smells of 'conspiracy' theory ... just a heads-up. This local story is rather interesting, and has never been explained by the government.

This video, is from the Discovery Channel, I don't know which show, and it tells the tale of the Shag Harbour Incident. Enjoy. :)

There probably is intelligent life out there which explains why they have never contacted us.

My mom and I did back around 1970. We had walked to a place overlooking Washington, D.C., from Virginia and we were just shooting the breeze when these two disk shaped objects went streaking by overhead. They moved with a slight skipping motion. Neither had a blinking light on it and they were going much faster than any conventional aircraft we'd ever seen (and we'd lived near air bases for most of our lives). The way they changed directions was amazing and yet they kept a perfect formation the entire time. I'm not at all convinced they were from another planet, but I'm surprised that if we had that kind of technology back then, why haven't we seen it reflected in our aircraft by now?

Seeing something like that is one thing. Concluding where it came from is quite another.

Any intelligent life out there will be too far away if we go by the bounds of physics that we currently know...

Travelling above the speed of light or even near it is too strange...thus you enter wormholes etc....

Or there are intelligent life all over the universe but we will never meet....

Either way, there has been no proof yet of any aliens...here's hoping we find some organisms on Mars or Titan...

talesin - The fact that there are unidentified things seen in the skies is one thing and I doubt anyone would suggest there aren't such things. However it is the conclusions that some people jump to that stretch credulity...!

Surely a Close Encounter of the Third Base Kind would count a pornea? ;-) :-D
