According to the Bible all humans male and female have inherited sin because of Adam and Eve`s disobedience to GOD .

GOD may have impregnated Mary with a life force , however it was still sinful Mary who gave birth to Jesus after nine months in her body who is /was supposedly without sin ?

How can that be ? Mary must have passed on some of her sinful state to Jesus having been in her womb for the past nine months , surely. ?

And there is nothing in the Bible / scripture to say otherwise ?

So in my mind Jesus had to be imperfect to some extent ,and not a perfect son of God.

    What do you say ?

    Hi Smiddy,

Where did Jesus get his y chromosome from? Not from Mary and not from Adam. JW hold that Adam could have produced perfect offspring inspite of Eve’s transgression. It is noteworthy that Jesus’s genealogy is through Mary. He is not a direct descendant of any male. Eve was affected by sin only after Adam sinned.Anyway, the perfect genes that JC got from God fixed the problem and JC didn’t inherit sin from Eve or Mary—or Adam.

good question. The masculinity in "Jesus" seemed not to be strongly expressed, compared to his ancestors "David" and "Solomon" with known "conquests" at 1000+.

The only funny story is the episode with the Samaritan lady at the well, and then spending 3 nights in that city, minus his male companion chaperones. .

As Fisherman pointed out, only icky women can pass along imperfection. Men, made in God's image, are still kinda cool and awesome and they just overcome woman's limitations with their genetic magnificence.

I agree with Fisherman's and the old JW premise. Unlike Jewishness, which is matriarchal, Sin appears to be Patriarchal.

Jesus according to the legend, had to be a Jew. Thus he had to be born of a Jewish mother.

IF, as the legend tells us, Jesus was Perfect, it must have been because he did not inherit imperfection from his Mother or his father. Since Jesus' mother was a human female with inherited sin, Jesus' father must have been the source of his Perfection.

Basically , their answer is ‘magic’. The original 1988 version of Insight said under the entry for Jesus:

Since actual conception took place, it appears that Jehovah God caused an ovum, or egg cell, in Mary’s womb to become fertile, accomplishing this by the transferal of the life of his firstborn Son from the spirit realm to earth. (Ga 4:4) Only in this way could the child eventually born have retained identity as the same person who had resided in heaven as the Word, and only in this way could he have been an actual son of Mary” … “From the results revealed in the Bible, it would appear that the perfect male life-force (causing the conception) canceled out any imperfection existent in Mary’s ovum, thereby producing a genetic pattern (and embryonic development) that was perfect from its start.

The entire passage was deleted in the 2018 revision.

Nope. Given Jesus’s miraculous birth, it’s not magic, it’s God’s Holy Spirit. “If it is by means of God’s finger…then the kingdom of God has really overtaken you.”

The Insight Book in general has been refined (not only in the related explanation about Jesus’s perfection in-spite of Mary’s sinfulness.) You will find that in other Bible interpretations and topics, there is very little commentary now except for what can be supported with evidence from the Bible. The Bible does not say how Jehovah did it or why Jesus was born perfect although his mother was a sinner.

"Jesus'" perfection has never been proven. It is just an assertion in the story. If it was important, proof could have been furnished by letting him live to over a 1000 years, retain his youth of ~ 21, (it goes south from then on). and best of all, give the "new World" a head start by having some perfect children and grand sons. but

that would have been requiring real action, not just writing, editing.

    Words are cheap.

    Hi Waton,

Jesus'" perfection has never been proven

That’s a different subject matter. The Bible refers to JC as the second Adam and without sin. What is being discussed here is how is that possible.
