this from wt13 7/15 pa22-23 do you believe it? why or why not? 12 When did Jesus appoint the faithful slave over his domestics? To answer that, we need to go back to 1914—the beginning of the harvest season. As we learned earlier, at that time many groups claimed to be Christian. From which group would Jesus select and

appoint the faithful slave? That question was answered after he and his Father came and inspected the temple, or spiritual arrangement for worship, from 1914 to the early part of 1919.* (Mal. 3:1) They were pleased with a small band of loyal Bible Students who showed that their heart was with Jehovah and his Word. Of course, they needed some cleansing, but they humbly responded during a brief period of testing and refining. (Mal. 3:2-4) Those faithful Bible Students were true Christian wheat. In 1919, a time of spiritual revival, Jesus selected capable anointed brothers from among them to be the faithful and discreet slave and appointed them over his domestics.

if in a future time they were to review and scrap 1914 the date of 1919 and the related teaching would automatically fall as a domino

self praise. stinks. given what wt was then preaching, worldwide, proven false prophecies. a stain on the reputation of a possible creator wt claims to represent.

Wt still preaches the same message:

"Millions now living will never die."

"if in a future time they were to review and scrap 1914 the date of 1919 and the related teaching would automatically fall as a domino."

and for those of us who know the 1914 thing is just laughably crazed nonsense, because we spent a few minutes investigating it, we can already determine that the G.B are self appointed Charlatans.

Why exactly would 'Jesus and his Father' be 'pleased' with this particular minor Adventist denomination that was basically indistinguishable from similar Adventist sects? In 1919 when supposedly 'selected', the 'Bible Students' taught that:

    • Jesus was made king in 1878
    • The archangel Michael is the Pope
    • ‘Sleeping saints’ were resurrected to heaven in 1878
    • Russell was the ‘faithful and wise servant’
    • The Great Pyramid of Giza confirms biblical chronology
    • Christmas should be celebrated
    • The ‘time of the end’ began in 1799
    • The ‘Jews to be restored to their homeland’ is literal
    • The ‘great company’ (great crowd) has a heavenly hope
    • Christ’s presence began in 1874
    • Jesus died on a cross
    • Jerusalem was destroyed in 606 BCE
    • Congregation discipline should be determined by the whole congregation
    • The prohibition on eating blood is only a “suggestion” to gentile Christians
    • Birthdays should be celebrated
    • ‘This generation’ refers to those alive during 1914

Assuming you believe in Bible the only 2 things Russel got right was the hellfire and trinity doctrine. Everything else was batshit crazy and way out in left field

Seems like that kinda summarized most (or at least a lot) of the Bible

Great quotation Enough. All of the Watchtower Society's unique teachings including their self-serving eschatology is entirely fictional as well as unscriptural.

I would say the most important thing Russell got right was his stand against both immortality of the soul and related eternal torment teaching.

nw: how about 3, "religion is a scam and a racket"? or was that the other R, rutherford? of the F&DS1919?

When did Jesus appoint the faithful slave over his domestics?

They need to provide evidence firstly, that Jesus actually existed without using the Bible.

Secondly, where in the Bible is any actual evidence whatsoever that Jesus 'appointed(tm)' anyone over anything?

As we learned earlier, at that time many groups claimed to be Christian.

Yes. Like so called Christians that enable and protect paedophiles. Hmmm. Who fits the bill?

n 1919, a time of spiritual revival, Jesus selected capable anointed brothers from among them to be the faithful and discreet slave and appointed them over his domestics.

    What a baseless, arrogant statement!

They have made more flip flops than the BBC lies on the Leftist Propaganda News they 'report'. Now, that's a lot!
