You still can't talk to them at length or normally socialise. All you can do is say hello at the KH or invite family/friends who are DF to attend again.
It literally isn't much but will get them past the "we don't encourage 100% shunning" when they are up in court.

Yes, everybody. But this is all too little and too late.
It is too late to make a good impression. Countless JWs had ruined lives because of policies.. I might be a little impressed if the religion said it was going to open a food pantry or something similar - to help some JWs in dire straits for following bad advice not to get careers! I said a ‘little’ impressed. There is no making whole the countless JWs who went to their graves!
But, I’m just daydreaming because I doubt THIS particular change would ever come about.. Somebody tell me if it ever does.
