It seems sad that all religions opine that the end will be in their life time.

It's all part of the scam.

    Hmph.

These days, it almost feels like the WTS is trying to make it happen (at least to themselves).

Ya but watching the idiots wast all their life time and money on the cult is precious.

Of course, now that President Trump seems to think he is the chosen one, he might be stiff competition for the GB.

They’re running out of money, enthusiasm, credibility, converts, appointable men, excuses, surplus properties they can sell, any further efficiencies that could be made, new ideas - all at once. What could go wrong?

Who really knows. But here are some facts:

    1. Historically their main source of income from print media dried up decades ago.

2 They’ve sold most of the valuable property they accumulated in the good times.

    3. After years of cutting costs the cuts keep coming.

    4. Their pattern of KH and Assembly Hall sales and demands for local funds indicates ongoing financial stress.

    5. The worst of their legal costs have not yet hit them.

In these circumstances, can we really rule out the organisation running out of funds and winding down?

Not only possible, I think it’s likely.

Yes you are right. Even if the wheels fell off tomorrow, it would take another 100 years to get this cancer fully removed from our society!

    HMM...

    1. Historically their main source of income from print media dried up decades ago.

YES BUT Their costs with being a printing house are also GONE.

2 They’ve sold most of the valuable property they accumulated in the good times.

YES - BUT THEY HAVE BILLIONS IN THE BANK TO INVEST AN LIVE OFF OF

    3. After years of cutting costs the cuts keep coming.

YES SO NOW getting $1 is like getting $10 in the past. ALSO so little money is going out comparatively.

    4. Their pattern of KH and Assembly Hall sales and demands for local funds indicates ongoing financial stress.

THIS IS THEIR NEW REVENUE SOURCE, WHICH BY ALL ACCOUNTS IS DOING JUST FINE.
ALL HALLS ARE PAYING LIKE THEY HAVE A MORTGAGE TO THE WT NOW.

    5. The worst of their legal costs have not yet hit them.
THEY HAVE PAID OUT VERY LITTLE, and will continue to shield themselves.

Don't get me wrong - i wish them gone, but its not gonna happen for a long time.

YES BUT Their costs with being a printing house are also GONE.

    Are they?

They have more bethelites and other full time workers to pay now than they have ever had in their history, according to the Yearbook numbers. It’s a bit of a mystery to me why their staff continued to increase at the same time as they were closing branches and winding down print media.

Plus much of the factory overheads remain, in branches that maintain printeries. They save money on paper by printing less, but they still need to keep the presses running. To make significant further saving they may need to reduce print to practically zero get rid of the machinery and factories. So printing, say 90% fewer books and magazines probably doesn’t save 90% of the costs, far from it.

YES - BUT THEY HAVE BILLIONS IN THE BANK TO INVEST AN LIVE OFF OF

Firstly, do you know for a fact they have such money in the bank? Secondly their running costs runs down the capital from asset sales.

YES SO NOW getting $1 is like getting $10 in the past. ALSO so little money is going out comparatively.

They have more staff and more costs than ever. Plus legal payout.

THIS IS THEIR NEW REVENUE SOURCE, WHICH BY ALL ACCOUNTS IS DOING JUST FINE.
ALL HALLS ARE PAYING LIKE THEY HAVE A MORTGAGE TO THE WT NOW.

When the assets are sold they are gone. It’s not a reliable future source of income, it’s a one time desperate money grab.

THEY HAVE PAID OUT VERY LITTLE, and will continue to shield themselves.

They have paid out tens of millions in the US alone, with more to come. The costs could easily reach hundreds of dollars per publisher. What JW wants to contribute money to pay towards that?

slimboy - so when is it over for them?

You see the writing on the wall I don't.

    When do they fold? 5 years, 10, 15 50?

What do you say so I can check back with you.

They have paid out tens of millions in the US alone, with more to come. The costs could easily reach hundreds of dollars per publisher. What JW wants to contribute money to pay towards that?

Ha, practically none of them know or care. Its satan attacking them as the WT says.

Depends what you mean by fold. They have already folded branches in Dublin, Vienna, New Zealand and so on, upwards of 20 branches. They’ve already massively reduced publications, cut district overseers, missionaries, closed Kingdom Halls, Assembly Halls, cut bethel services, collected funds from local congregations, and so on. They’ve been cutting back heavily for about four years and show no signs of stopping.

So the question isn’t really when will Watchtower fold. The question is when will they stop folding down their operations? When or what is going to turn the situation around?

Because if they continue on the same trajectory of the past 4 years it looks pretty bleak for Watchtower.

And the indications are that, rather than improve, financial pressure is about to get worse!
