I've been out for so long that many jws now fall into 3 groups
Those who can't remember if I was df'd or just inactive and shun me
Those who can't remember if I was df'd or just inactive and err on the side of being friendly
Those who don't remember if I was df'd or just inactive but feel I should be df'd and shun me
and I forget those who were shunning me when I was still an active jw and keep doing so.
I resigned for my husband's sake. He wanted to keep some semblance of a relationship with his parents. There is no relationship. My father-in-law tolerates a call now and then. I sent photos of their brand new great grandson-- no response. Maybe MIL died? Hard to know for sure-- haven't seen them in over 5 years. My JW "friends" don't initiate contact, so I return the favor. Six years out, and I just don't care.
