“Parents Train Your Children To Love Jehovah “

The title says it all really, but par 6 has this piece of advice.

“Jesus likened our time to “the days of Noah,” and there is no doubt that we are living in “critical times hard to deal with.” (Matt. 24:37; 2 Tim. 3:1) With that reality in mind, some couples have concluded that they would like to postpone having children so that they can devote more time to sharing in the Christian ministry.“

That may sound a little odd , given that the main field for growth and baptism in the Western world is children growing up..... but still.

Now if one truly believes that “ the cities are [about to] crash in ruin” that may sound reasonable..... Who wants to be pregnant in Idlib today? But is that really the case?

Older ones may remember similar comments in the past when parenthood and even marriage was discouraged in the printed material. For example the book “Children “ . Oddly this was written as a dialogue between two single people in the WTS , John and Eunice and it concludes on this note...

Our hope is that within a few years our marriage may be consummated and, by the Lord's grace, we shall have sweet children that will be an honor to the Lord. We can well defer our marriage until lasting peace comes to the earth. Now we must add nothing to our burdens, but be free and equipped to serve the Lord”

When I add that this was published in 1941 things gain a perspective.

79 years have passed, enough time to have brought up children and seen grandchildren even great grandchildren! .... and still this world system is with us.

Clearly the WTS is no guide in such fundamental lifestyle decisions, or the understanding of the scriptures.

The watchtower doesn't miss an opportunity to promote misery, no marriage, no consummation of marriage, no children, no family of your own..... just drone like obedience to us.

God is very pro-family, not like the WT. Destroying the family unit has a very destabilizing effect on a person.

Then they tout the last days "no natural affection" then personally prove it by shunning their non-believing offspring...effectively disowning them, banning them from existence.

No good humane advice coming from this cult.

    The Watchtower—Study Edition | April 2016

17 Thousands of young Christian men and women are willingly sacrificing marriage or are not having children—at least for now—in order to serve Jehovah to the full. Older ones too may be sacrificing the time they could otherwise spend with their children and grandchildren in order to work on theocratic construction projects or to attend the School for Kingdom Evangelizers and to serve in areas where the need for Kingdom publishers is greater. Others set aside personal matters to share in service campaigns during the Memorial season. Such wholehearted service brings deep joy to Jehovah, who will never forget their work and the love shown for him. (Read Hebrews 6:10-12.) Would it be possible for you to make additional sacrifices to serve Jehovah more fully?

Here is the perfect world for the WTBTS:

I knew a sister who had collected her free copy of the "Children" book along with its special bookmark, when she was a young girl at an assembly.

She pioneered straight from school, supported by her parents and then went to Gilead in the 1950's being assigned as a missionary in Ireland. She had a terrible time there and eventually ended up back in England as a pioneer until she died. She said it was a great regret to her that she never married and had children, she was fully convinced that Armageddon would have come many years ago. I'm sure her story can be repeated by many others.

Yea but......according to the bible, (a.k.a. Hebrew mythology) The 'divine mandate' given to man, the reason for marriage was to f*cking multiply and fill the earth. The pleasure of sex was secondary to the purpose!

    just saying!

The earth is full and all those resurrected ones will fill it more. So no need for sex at all. Remember the naked genderless stories? There is tiddly winks

I was drawn into "The Truth" and baptized in 1986 while dating my JW high school girlfriend. 🙄

The title of an article from 3/1/88 Watchtower is indelibly etched in my brain, "Responsible Childbearing in This Time of the End".

It's still available at the JW online library if you care to be sickened by it.

    Control, guilt, wash rinse repeat.

It takes >10 000 hours of "service" time reported ro produce one baptism into the non-spirit directed wt organisation. Devoted parents will lavish more than that on their beloved and vital offspring.

that is why wt despises parenthood.

really criminal. and then to top it off by advocating that those who do get born against GB wishes to keep steeped in ignorance, as uneducated as possible.

Now we must add nothing to our burdens, but be free and equipped to serve the Lord.

Just another propagation made by the WTS to acquire more public sales representatives recognizing as pioneers .

The Watchtower Corporation as its known was a commercialized false prophet who created a false tainted version of the Gospel of Jesus intentionally to proliferate literature.

One could say it was the spirit of Satan who directed this organization, even as its been transformed into a computerized religious publishing house called JWorg.
