Yes, churches are filled with all kinds, they are not houses for saints. The difference is that if you belong to a church and have differing opinion and voice it, you will not be punished for saying so. You will not lose your children, you will not be encouraged to leave your spouse because they are a 'spiritual endangerment' , you will not be disfellowshipped. I know this because when I was a teen and having a discussion in a public class with my pastor and I disagreed with a concept/doctrine he bore me no ill will. We discussed, he allowed me my point and then made his point. All this while I was a mere teen and in class. We were allowed independent thinking and it was encouraged.

Once again Anony Mous makes excellent points that you as an elder should answer but will not. Answer it in a public venue both in the kh and in public at large. Heck, do a video or podcast see how long you last in dubland. See how long your friends and family stick around. How about telling them you post here regularly? have you been honest with anybody in your life?

I cannot get over the non seriousness of Elderberry. How long have you been in the org? How long an elder? Your responses are mostly off the cuff, no deep thought, just that everything is ok, easy going, so what.

Do you realize what those who have been in the org for years see you as? Someone who can take their total life as they know it, and ruin it with a 3 man committee. If not them then their child, who may have been raped by another elder or ms. Have you handled such a case? Do you know an elder in Pennsylvania just got 30 years for raping two children? So far the number is up to 14 in jail and one committed suicide so he would not have to stand in court. The State of Pennsylvania is heavily into finding out ALL congregations records so as to reveal more cases. Are you aware? Cause all this board of POMO PIMAS are very well aware.

You make it so laid back but deep down there are so many issues that you do not seem to relate to. I think you have a long way to go with the smiling, cheerful faces that greet you, yet may be grumbling behind you back if you are not being a hands on elder, coasting along with a clique in the congregation, not calling on them at home, not visiting the sick at home or in hospital, shepherding work, not helping a widow or lonely one in the congregation. There are many aspects to being a in depth full time elder- a responsibility Jehovah gave you to carryout fully.

You really sound like you are new, a social media type, who is very light on responsibility. And do not really work hard in research to know what the depth of the truth as the org calls it, really is.

I think what many fail to realise is how much JW land has changed of late.

It is ok to voice doubts these days. We often openly say what if the end is not right around the corner. Our kids may grow old in this system.

what if we don’t have the correct understanding about this scripture ect.

At the end of the day things have changed so much in JW land that it is now ok to be JW lite and be just like many other religious belief systems.

Of course if you say things apostate then you will be treated just the same as any other religious belief system and they will say so why are you still coming here then? Best if you stop coming to the church, mosque or KH ect.

you actually get love bombed even more if say your faith is weak and you are just not sure anymore. You get treated so well now, in the past they wanted you out.

this is the largest U turn in the Borg. There is a huge retention effort. It’s very hard to get pushed out compared to the past. Only if you are apostate, or committed serious sin and are not repentant. In this case it’s just a 90day sanction and people still talk to you at the meetings.

then the elders and their wives and friends love bomb you even more. You get invited out all the time.

In our time, our religious DNA was Protestant; now it's completely Catholic, and no one realized that. So, since it is like that, it should also be like that in the aspect of Catholicism that I like most: the tolerance of internal groups with characteristics of other religions, but they remain within. The Church accepts and recognizes them so as not to lose them and formalize other schisms, as long as they recognize the "creed," which is composed of very few fundamental teachings, perhaps written with some synonyms from the most widely used version. I hope it will come to that, too, given that they decided to be Catholic. Regarding the "lowest common denominator" creed we could have, consider the famous "Apostles' Creed," the oldest on record.

    *Apostles' Creed*

"I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.

" and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,

    suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried;

    he descended into Hades; on the third day he rose again from the dead;

he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.

From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the universal holy congregation, the Communion of Saints,

    the forgiveness of sins,

    the resurrection of the body,

    The life everlasting. Amen."*

    Even Jw can recite it.

ElderBerry: Most religious groups have large numbers of people who are agnostic if they are honest with themselves.

There is no way to demonstrate this. I think you are stating it because it makes your stance seem more common and therefore the dishonesty is less of a problem.

But that is still not my concern with it. Be agnostic if you want. But please do not try to hide behind "no one can know for sure" as if you can apply that to everything. By staying in, you tacitly approve of --and possibly help to maintain-- a set of bad and dangerous policies.

It’s not dishonest it’s actually being really honest

I’m 100% certain that the majority of most belief systems whatever they are if you believe in intelligent design if you believe in evolution you do have an element of agnosticism to it

If you do not, you’re absolutely sure that you have the whole truth about how the universe started and everything then you are a loon in my opinion

Most people in the world are not loons and they are like Me they have a general belief system but they’re humble enough to know that there’s probably more to it. They don’t have the whole truth whatever your belief system whatever religion or non-religion. You might be in it it’s far better to have some agnosticism the humility to see. I’m not sure it might be right. It might not be there is probably more to it.

Carla none of this happenes in JW land anymore, I’m not too sure it ever did actually I think you exaggerate.

The new way we have lots of spouses who are openly JW lite and some who are not so easy to tell.

i think it’s ok to openly talk about what the GB keep on repeating “WE DONT KNOW”

things have changed so much. There is no more disfellowshiping. It’s actually very hard to be announced that someone is no longer a JW.

in the rare event that happens the elders have to jump through hoops doing what they can to help and encourage that one to return.

You are exactly right. You just gave a great description of JW lite but you show you still do not understand it yourself.

There are many aspects to being a in depth full time elder- a responsibility Jehovah gave you to carryout fully.

when you say this you prove you do not understand PIMA. My belief system is that I don’t know if Jehovah even exists, so what you say doesn’t apply to anyone who chooses JW lite.

Being an elder or MS is completely different these days to what many on here still think it is. There are boys in early 20s trying to grow a bum fluff beard who are elders.

even more boys so young they can’t grow bum fluff who are MServants. Just so they can be an attendant on security to talk to the single sisters their age 😆

just think about how things have changed and the trajectory the Borg is on?

For those who have been out for years they just do not understand what the situation is now.

I love it, and if it wasn’t for all these changes then I would be physically out by now. But due to the lightening of our loads, due to the admittance that we simply do not know so many things, and due to the fact that we can express doubts and admit we don’t know this is why I’m staying physically in and mentally agnostic
