What Rutherford trumped up with banishing xmas/holidays & birthdays has worked for the borg through the decades.

If it ain't broke,,dont fix it. For the borgs sake.

Its sparing the borg having the rank and file lose focus on wt things,,,keeping the focus on wt things and more $$$ for the contribution boxes.

Gen 21:8 The child [Isaac] grew and was [a]weaned, and Abraham held a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned.

So ask your mom when she cut you off the teat and celebrate that day each year!

Perhaps a JW who wants a bit of the office birthday cake could rationalise it against what Hezekiah did to the bronze serpent. "I'll take their pagan birthday cake and grind it down into the human waste that it is!"

    That says a lot.

It really sounds like he doesn't believe Jah is watching what he does either.

ElderBerry: Well, hey, that's the solution! Just accept a piece of the "pagan" b-day cake, put it into the company refrigerator, and have it the next day! Problem solved! Best Regards, Everyone!----Titch.

We don’t celebrate birth which is pagan, but we celebrate Jesus death which also has pagan roots (spring equinox) and the story of Jesus, including his virgin birth (Romulus and Remus, the autumn equinox), 40 days in the wilderness (weeping for Tammuz) and 3 years ministry and apocalyptic message, turning water into wine (Dionysus, god of festivities) and death by crucifixion and resurrection (Zeus) all based on pagan stories.

But birthday CAKE, a thing that wasn’t invented for 1400 years after Jesus’ death, and birthday parties, a thing that started around the time CT Russell’s parents were born, that is pagan.

One reasoning I’ve heard is calling your birthday, an anniversary of your birth , day. Because everyone has only one birth…day, the day of your birth. Geeze, how pharasidic of them , calling this an anniversary.
