One of the most problematic and damaging doctrine the JWS ever made was the no blood doctrine which was also connected to the no organ transplants and the no vaccinations.

These doctrines all together have killed thousands over the years since their introduction starting back in the early 1940's . Where the WTS slipped up is an over interpretation of the abstention of blood set in the old Hebraic dietary law. The actual sacredness of life got overshadowed here . Add in the commandment by Jesus to care for the sick out love and respect .

Can the sacredness of blood be upheld when blood is transfused from a living human being into someone who needs it to live ?

I think and even the most Orthodox Jews obviously think so too.

The assumption that any of their other doctrines were even right.

In being honest I think the WTS did have some doctrines which were possibly theologically right such as its stance on Christmas and Halloween or not using graven images during worship services, but there is few to be realized.

Hi Finkelstein - ever considered that that clay tablets could be faked by poor people digging in Babylon and getting paid good money by some wealthy Europeans? Just a thought. Dates may not be all they are cracked up to be.

    All 13,000 of them?

Putting together all the archeological findings in the last few decades of these civilizations with that of the dating chronology provided in the bible concerning when the kings of Jerusalem were ruling in place, adds to the over all support of 586 BCE being the year of the destruction of ancient Jerusalem.

But then again what other religoius organization claims the year 607 BCE or what other organization makes the claim of 1914 being a year of profound theological significance ?

    none

So from that observation one has to ask, who is practicing unrighteous false teachings ?

This is like asking Mary Todd (Mrs. Abraham) Lincoln why she hated the play. There's so much to choose from and the answer will depend on your frame of reference and your own circumstances.

There's the cross/stake issue, great crowd and other sheep, mediator for only the 144k and whether that is a literal number. But to go to the roots- selecting and insisting that Jehovah is God's name according to the English version of the Bible and inserting it into the Greek Scriptures. That is the biggest one.
