Islam is RIGHT about Women

Ironic isn't it how some insist Islam requires women be subjugated while at the same time targeting an Islamic woman in the US House of Representatives. That's called cognitive dissonance.

You can't seem to grasp that there is a monumental difference between an ideology that has subjugation of women (and others) as a core doctrine, and the desire to hold someone to account who has been guilty of immigration fraud, campaign finance fraud, anti-semitism and, of course, her endless attempts to push the very ideology that would subjugate others.

There's no virtue in tolerating the intolerant.

The fact still stands: the statement is something many can't or won't answer even though the answer is easy and obvious. Islam IS wrong about women. Amazing how hard it is for some to acknowledge even though they worship stories like "The Handmaids Tale" as though it accurately portrays Christianity when really it is just describing Islam.

"Islam" is a broad spectrum of sects and personal identities - but it's based on one holy book, The Quran, one person's example above all others (Muhammad's) and one body of law, Shari3a.

Just like Judaism can't be reduced to one set of standards and beliefs - sorry, this is nonsense. Judaism has one standard and one set of beliefs.

Are there any Jewish religious sects who think eating bacon is allowed for religious Jews?

Any Jewish religious sects whose members don't worship Yahweh, but instead worship other gods, such as Vishnu, Thor, etc.?

Islam IS wrong about women - one thing, it's good that cheeky messages can start conversations.

    Is Islam wrong about women?

Well, Islam says that men and women are different, and that biological sex exists and that there are only two biological sexes. This is in line with all the scientific data: there are two biological sexes (male and female); the two sexes are bimodal, i.e. Homo sapiens exhibits sexual dimorphism. Men and women are different, on average, on many things: height, upper body strength, percentage and distribution of body fat, gametes (which are binary - there are only eggs and sperm), and - as the Scandinavian countries are discovering to their horror - behaviour.

But I also get what you're saying - Islam is wrong on how it views and treats women. Women's testimony being half that of men's is discriminatory bullshit and must be called out as such. Stoning women to death for adultery is Shari3a and therefore part of Islam and must be called the barbaric, religious, depraved bullshit that it undoubtedly is.

All the lily-white Western 'activists' won't touch Islam with a barge pole, though.

Because these activists are basically anti-Western, anti-capitalist loons. Islamists are their fellow travellers on the way to smashing capitalism. Sorry to be cynical, but that's it, in a nutshell.

    ^^ What uni said

It is also a fun message to put out. Either way it is said, it brings about a strong cognitive dissonance to the far left, anti-Western activists.

I actually do find the whole kerfuffle pointed out in the OP's linked articles perversely amusing (I enjoy it when ideological snobs are made uncomfortable), and I wholeheartedly agree with Simon when he says that "There's no virtue in tolerating the intolerant"...

...but there is one thing I'm scratching my head about.

One of the Right's primary long-standing criticisms of the Left is that it's "anti-religious"...

...but how can it be "anti-religious" and yet coddle Islam at the same time?

Two parts to that - they are anti-semitic / anti-christian / anti-while male and at the same time Islam is a political ideology as much as a religious one.

The left support it because even though people view things as "left" and "right", the extreme left and right are the same, so Islam which is fascist is all about complete state control, which is also just what the left wants. Each is happy to use the other thinking they will turn on them at the last minute and have control.

The National Socialists (Nazis) and Islam were allies in WWII. They make perfect companions.

That's the cool thing about playing with labels and definitions, while not addressing ideas or concepts AT ALL, it can be anything, but especially the boogie man you need it to be.

I honestly don’t think “right” is defined by religion (or being religious). Nor is the “left” defined by being anti-religious. The “left” is fundamentally anti-individual, and is ready to disregard the rights that come with that for the greater “good”.

Simon Said - Each is happy to use the other thinking they will turn on them at the last minute and have control.

This is exactly what happened in the 1979 Iran revolution, the Ayatollah rose to power on the back of the lefty students and then put them all against the wall.
