It is insane that things like Magic Mushrooms are criminal when all research shows A. the are not toxic, B non-addictive, C there are many benefits to using them.
But Tobacco and Alcohol which are horrible for health and have caused so much suffering and billions of $ of cost are Ok.

You are assuming that if other drugs were made common, that they too wouldn't have the same negative impacts on society that tobacco and alcohol do.

Some things should stay illegal for a reason. We don't want deadly substances such as fentanyl to be freely available as they are a significant risk to life.

Even non life-threatening drugs turn into life-threatening drugs when combined with other things, such as driving, and while people claim "research shows no risk" that doesn't mean there is no risk, it often just means there has been insufficient research - the illegality of substances often prevents such research taking place which debunks some of the claims made about their benign effects and safety.

Ha, have you looked at Instagram photos lately? I say yes, legalize it. The last Federal legislation attempt that shut down Back Page and other sites, critics claim it jeopardizes the safety of "sex workers". I'm sure inside the Beltway of Washington D.C. they all know who to call for their itch.

Prostitution is a threat to public health. It is not a victimless crime. Most women are forced into prostitution

Most often, the decision to become a prostitute is made out of necessity only. This decision often comes with the loss of freedom due to "pimp" representation, induced drug addiction, and sexually transmitted disease

If there is going to be an active business with money being exchanged then it should be legalized and regulated, as well making strong laws against acting outside of the those imposed laws.

Brothels should be only placed in commercialized areas and not in private homes/ neighborhoods.

If enacted there should also be an age restriction, as you must be at least 21 and legally registered with government approved identity for verification.

Yes I think prostitution should be decriminalized. @ minimus LOL

I literally logged in to bring this up. And there it was. HA.

I went to a "red light district" and payed a fee to go into a club. 12.00 dollars. I don't care what anyone thinks. Its been years without human touch.

The last 4 dates I went on cost 500.00 bucks combined, plus weeks of my time while getting jerked around.( Just not the right kind of jerked. lol ) So 12.00 buck plus gas was great. No names, safe, and no bullshit.

Prostitution is a matter of opinion. I know women who're on dating sites JUST to get taken out to dinner. There's probably not always sex involved, but if you're being paid with a meal for your company, that sounds like prostitution to me.

IDK. I think it's still risky. You could do mandatory health checks, but still...

In the porn industry, performers have to take regular tests to make sure they don't have things like AIDS. I think legalized prostitution would be more dangerous. At least the porn performers get tested regularly. So if you're only having sex with other performers who are also tested, there's a lower risk of contracting something.

However, with prostitution, only the prostitutes are being tested. Meaning they're having sex with unknowns several times a day. And if they catch something, how soon until they can spread it and how long until their next test? And how many customers are exposed to disease before it's detected? And IMO, if you're having sex with prostitutes, you're not picky about who you have sex with, so the likelihood the customers have something is higher. So you've got prostitutes having sex with high risk people and then having sex with many other people. What could go wrong?

I think it's too dangerous. Although penalties should be reduced. If you're stupid enough to buy or sell and take that risk, that's on you. No need to further pile on by the law.

Many are into weekend prostitution and fly in and out of Vegas returning to their home states and careers on Sunday night - hard to believe but it's true. This is nothing new - don't know how it could be decriminalized.

That is a round about decriminalization of sorts. What I wrote is a round about decriminalization of sorts.

Why are people talking about "Legal" prostitution? The title says "Decriminalization". Huge difference.

So are we talking legal prostitution, decriminalization, or both?
