No. I guess I'm a centrist on the issue.

However, I do recycle and do other green stuff. (I realise that sounds gross).

There are so many, many issues that burn with me. I can't juggle them all.

Global warming/climate change isn't a big issue for me.

I agree that human activity harms the environment and therefore we should be cleaner and greener.

My issues that I have is similar to what Cofty is exploring on his thread. Environmentalists behave as if they were in a cult. They are intellectually dishonest when it comes to discussing data. They also have a strong anti-capitalist, anti-West bent. How many times do we hear climate change activists lambast India or China for all their polluting factories? Answer: never.

I don't trust scientists, either, because their research is funded by the same governments who want to put more taxes onto us.

We need an open, honest discussion.

Exactly. If there were independent science, it would carry more weight, but right now you only get paid if you put out papers that comes to the climate change conclusion regardless of what the data and evidence actually say.

There was no "97% of climate scientists agree" consensus before that, it was a total fabrication.

It doesn't mean we shouldn't be against pollution or waste, we want a good clean environment, but it doesn't mean the world is about to end.

Regardless though, the real threat is the likes of China and the more we can do to strengthen our own economies and decimate theirs, the less pollution there will be. The policies that will cripple our own and hand more industry to them will make things worse - so "yay" you banned a plastic straw, that was 0.001% of our 0.03% of the plastic in the oceans. Anyone who doesn't support Trumps policies with China hates the environment and human rights.

I believe climate change has been going on for millions of years...ages. I do though believe we as keepers of the planet should respect the natural environment and do everything we can to maintain its health and natural beauty. I am against deforestation for greedy corporate profits and I am categorically against wastefulness of earth's economy. I want to see wild animals safe in their natural habitat. I would like arable land to be used to advantage to eliminate the scourge of poverty and malnutrition. Anything that betters the planet..the human population..and the flora and fauna..that is what I am for.

Very sad -- we can't trust the scientists who need the funding and the leftists who need to pad their pockets (get rich fast political scheme) and throw the country into socialism. Democracies generally don't last over 200 yrs. Everyone will be all happy in the land of socialism receiving $1,000/mo and a gov't apartment - health insurance will be limited unless one is in the top tier. Don't get sick or old -- odds aren't good for you.

A survey was taken of the younger genre and college students -- the majority were clueless what socialism means other than free junk and some won't have more than others. People can't stand others having more - it's an envy thang!

    ZEB:

I agree with you and always felt that all the religion’s literature was a waste of natural resources.

I saw enough tracts lying on the ground and WT/Awake magazines in wastebaskets to just shake my head at it all.

    SMIDDY3:

If it’s true that global warming is a cycle related to the sun there’s nothing we can do about it.
