Mass JW exodus

It's the true zombie Witness sentiment as you say Pale emperor:

"Its such a nice way to live your life".

If niceness is what you want in life; indeed a contrived niceness does exist in the JW cult--- as long as you praise the leadership and permanently concentrate on maintaining the pharisaical boundaries set up by them.

Something which is much better is to live in freedom outside of JW thought control, in the real world where people make their own decisions based on weighing evidence and take their own responsibility for what they do.

As delightful as a mass exodus would be the best we might hope for is that many will take their cue from the Watchtower and think, Wait a mo! why should I do what they say, they are not inspired?

But then again some people, probably because their own family didn't provide it, just hanker after the lazy comfort of "niceness".

I don't know how sitting through uninspiring snoozefest meetings and giving up your Saturday mornings just to put your time in is "the best way of life"

    No.

The rank and file JW are happy. There is no need for change when you are in a comfort zone.

Even if 1914 would change to 2014 and every JW would get a heavenly belonging, no one would left.

It's all about the comfort zone, not about the theology.

It's business as usual. The JWs will be happy in their delusional bubble. The GB are still god's mouthpiece except when they're not to the JWs.

The GB are so humble that they would rather spend almost $700,000 Jeehobucks than turn over pedophile records!

After the 1975 screw-up....the "overlapping generations" nonsense....the incomprehensible hash they've made of the blood doctrine.....10's of thousands of cases of child abuse unreported to authorities....the NGO membership in the UN DPI....

    ...and no "mass exodus"....

...you think a sentence in a Watchtower article will have such an effect?

What color is the sky in your world?

I don't think there will ever be a mass exodus. 10m people simply don't all change their mind at the same time, whatever happened would be explained away and manged. They have an ongoing exodus of members - the churn that has stagnated their recent growth.

Nope. They are brainwashed robots. It's like they have a spell over them when it comes to their religion. These people are elitists and want that status to remain.

Many of the near 8 million JW's believe in one concept...that the GB/FDS and God are somehow connected.

Therefore, no matter what the GB say it will always be right...even when they say they can be wrong!

Honestly, the GB could say whatever they want and no-one will question it and it will be followed.
