I posted a reply on MN's thread, after he was DF'd. In short, I thought we were a bit hasty. My reasons were that I thought the replies were no more incendiary than the rest of are allowed. Also, I found no vulgarity. Finally, I thought the replies were on topic - at least as close as we expect of everyone else.

Onacruse: I find it just as irritating when trying to engage a real conversation and you don't get a reply.

MN: I think you are feeling a backlash from times when we have needed a moderator's moderation in order to conduct normal conversation. But I also think it has been while since we had that kind of troll, and you were pounced on. Personally, I miss spirited discourse on this site that included active JWs. Not surprisingly, because the camps are so entrenched, that kind of back-and-forth is a bit rare.

How 'bout it folks? Am I off base here?

With all due respect, I totally disagree that being delisted is the same as being DFd. Completely, utterly, universally different. Those of us that chose to continue communication with someone who's been delisted from this board can continue to do so, and no moderator here would even think about delisting you, or, me, or anybody else, for simply trying to keep in touch with Jay, on board or otherwise.

And it doesn't take a multi-month/year bureaucratic reinstatement process to get relisted; just a simple demonstration of honest interest in open discussion. And, as you say:

I thought getting deactivated was a cause of 2 things that being using more than one ID or personal attacks . Persoanally I don't think it's too much to ask that people interact on the basis of honesty . If you are a JW then you shouldn't be here anyway but if you are just leading people on to believe a bunch of bs it's been done to perfection before and you are wasting everyones time and asking for abuse .I think the main point of this site is to help people who are trying to leave a cult.We are willing to discuss anything witness related but don't need to be coerced into some pointless debates with people who aren't who they claim to be . IMO

Sorry if I misunderstood; I am developmentally challenged when it comes to dry humour. There have been a number of threads (which I deliberately avoided) in the not-too-distant past that raised this issue...perhaps I'm having a delayed reaction? Wouldn't be the first time...I'm kinda slow
