Does the Governing Body already know that Jehovah (the name) came from Babylon the Great?

    "According to the Watchtower, the Catholic Church is a huge part of Babylon the Great which is led by Satan and his demons. Raymundus Martini, a Catholic Monk (who "represents" Babylon the Great to some extent), woke up one day in the 13th Century and decided to alter YHWH so it can be easily pronounced. Hence the SPANISH-ish version of YHWH was created... Jehova... (sounds something like this in Spanish: Heh-O-Va)"

    Apparently, the alteration goes back even further.

    Im sure the governing bozos know that "name"" and the very existence of the Borg owes its origins to Babylon the Great.

    The JWs also use Babylon the Great’s biblical canon, despite knowing full well and even devoting entire articles in their rags to the church significantly editing out scriptures to fit their own dogma. If you want the scriptures from the “true” first Christians as they often claim to be extension from, they would include many, many Christian scripture written between 200BC-400AD that may be very problematic to explain literally and also torpedoes most of their own dogma.

    The Bible itself was copied and preserved by the "apostates" (as Witnesses view them) from Judaism and the church, all in Babylon the Great (as Witnesses view it). So what? What's the point? In Ray Franz's CofC he quotes past GB member Karl Klein as saying that using church works was "sucking at the tits of Babylon the Great," and as Franz notes, Klein himself used such sources, 4th ed. p. 23. So why should they not take over the name Jehovah from the same sources?

    @careful: the point is not that they do, the point is the hypocrisy especially given the things we now know from historical records, both about gods name and the original Christians. If you claim to be a ‘first century Christian’ then you should do things like first century Christianity, which is a lot closer to Judaism, very likely doesn’t use God’s name and doesn’t really have the same concept about the modern Christus. The fact is that they have taken most of third century Christianity (Catholicism) when it comes to canon together with a form of 19th century Protestantism (Millerism) but simultaneously rejecting the core tenets of all in an attempt to set them apart making themselves internally contradictory and incomprehensible.

    How can one profane GOD`s name if no one actually knows what that name,or correct pronunciation is ?

    I shouldn't think they're bothered providing they can get, money, adoration and download Jimmy Saville class images on to their laptops.

    as ive said on here numerous times YHWH should be read from right to left...HWHY

    if so, maybe there's a market for a Bible translation written in English, printed right-to-left, but for reading left-to-right, a mystical liturgy, refined seven times, you could probably start a sect based on it.

    As an aside, it's funny to me that watchtower calls the deity 'Jehovah God' as if he has to have a first name and a last name like anyone else.

    Beth Sarim, "I thought the Borg didn't make it possible to reference certain older material."

    Very wrong, it is all there for the world to see, at wol.jw, WTs 1950 onwards and most of the other publications including Aid from around 1970 onwards.

    TheOldHippie;

    Thanks for that link.

    I didn't know such a thing existed. For the world to see the Borgs blunders, lies and cover-ups.

    Thanks a bunch!!!!
