It's hard for me to think that the Watchtower IT department must be fully aware of WT duplicity as in they are experts in using the internet and are fully aware of what the internet is saying about their boss.

So why not hack them and make more public their utter bullshit in a humanitarian concern expressed by what ever powers he has to reduce guilt.

As the reputation of the Watchtower goes south and more dirt is revealed the more likely it is for those in position of trust like Watchtower IT department to be forced into a very precarious position of helping a bunch of frauds and so why should it be of any surprise that some type of corrective vengeance is planed by many members of the IT.

The WT lawyers get paid. They know NOT to sign a vow of poverty.

The WT IT specialists? Does anyone know any personally?

What perks do they receive? Are they going to IT exotic seminars on WT's dime? Are they getting an extra degree paid for by WT?

Besides being WT elders, what prestiage do they receive that they would want to stay loyal to WT?

    Think harder ;-)

Humans are (unknowingly) experts at compartmentalizing.

I'm an IT guy (in a regular company). I am an expert in using the internet. Yet I never knew what the internet was saying about Watchtower.

Why not? Because I didn't look and didn't search. After all, we have all bee inoculated against the temptation of looking at apostate websites. That same fear or hesitation that most felt when they first visited this site keeps most JW - including the internet savvy crowd - away from websites critical of JW.

Compare it this way: there are many prolific book readers, even among JW. They read many, many books. Does that mean they know what people have been writing about Watchtower? No, not until they actually read a book about that specific topic.

Edit to add: I'm not really fond of clickbait title by the way! It contributes to confusion and fake news, and we don't need that!

I saw it was brokeback and knew it was therefore ‘fakenews’ but still....

    Fake News! Gotcha!

But all kidding aside a IT guy working for the Watchtower that doesn't know about the scandals they are trying to hide from the R&F? I don't think Compartmentalization can hide it from 30% of them maybe less.

What about the possibility of FBI informant working in the IT department how easy would it be to get one that is a loyal Jdub who's awakening ?

I'm thinking the Governing Body mistaking every one close to them as a bunch of fools has given them a false sense of security as to the type of evidence those close to them are gathering for an immunity from prosecution plea by turning over evidence to the state.

With all these layoffs and bull shit broad casts given by the Governing Body these past 5 years or so many close to them know it is all bull shit to keep the organization profitable and it is failing big time. 2015 on the verge of major work stoppage due to a lack of funds announcement at the annual business meeting,, even after the big money grab of all excess funds over 3 months operation costs. seems this GB has made some serious mistakes and misplace trust is another.

I see lots of room for some type of conspiracy theories here and future.

Aside from what Anders rightly said about compartmentalizing, for most exjws it's something that happens GRADUALLY. I did know of one guy who worked remotely and like many exjws he had pretty high standards and wouldn't betray professional trust in that way. Unless, like BArbara Anderson, you were dealing directly with something like child abuse, of course.

What if someone working in the IT department concerned about record destruction hacked the WT security and obtained files of all the information collected on pedophiles in the congregations and stored them in a safe place?
