You need to know the weight of water to answer this question. I know that 1 gallon of water weights approximately 8 pounds. Not sure about the exact weight. These are some of the things that you learn to know when you have to carry stuff like this on your back in the Army.

    maximumflash,

no sorry ...its a tricky question!!!!

PS: you don't need the weight of water.

    Yep, that's right 75 mph.

And, umm, I hate to bring it up people, but there were NOT an even number of animals on the ark. Remember 7 of some species were taken on. And since some sacrifices were going to take place, then there HAD to be more than 2 each of your favorite sacrifical animal. Think, people, think.

    Just seen this thread.

    Realist,

you have 1 kilogram of strawberries that consists of 99% water.....after leaving the strawberries in the sun for 3 hours they consist of only 98% water.....how much do the strawberries weigh now?

    999.89899 grams. Or 0.99989899 Kg.

I am assuming that the "%" refers to mass, and not volume, BTW.

    Scully,

PS: How many animals did Moses take on the ark?

    None!

    It was Noah, not Moses.

    Spanner,

it refers to mass....but the answer is not 999.8 grams.

I suppose, if this is a trick question, then...

you have 1 kilogram of strawberries that consists of 99% water.....after leaving the strawberries in the sun for 3 hours they consist of only 98% water.....how much do the strawberries weigh now?

The "1 kilogram of strawberries" must still be "1 kilogram" of strawberries!

no no its not a trick question...just tricky!

sorry i am out of posts for today....so i post the answer here:

    it is 500 grams.....

spinner you were on the right track....

the 10 grams of solid material are 1% in the beginning.....they are however 2% in the end....hence there are 500 grams left.
