  • Mulan
    Mulan
    Red Headed Stranger
    By Willie Nelson
    Album: Red Headed Stranger

I am married to a red head, and have 3 red haired sons, so we always loved that one!!!!!!!

Now, I have a red headed son in law, and 2 red haired grandchildren. Yay, for reds!!!

That is so sweet Mulan. I have a special place in my heart for redheads, my mom was a gorgeous redhed,,,,,,,,, very orange red,,,,,,,,,, such a unique color. She had a small blonde streak in the back of her nape.

She always felt a special kinship to Willie Nelson, he being redhead too. She loved that song, and all of Willie's stuff. She always called herself "the redheaded stepchild".

Years after she died, I started listening more Willie Nelson songs, and this song really reminds me of her.........."Angel Flying Too Close to the Groud". I really tear up at that one.

There is a verse in it that says.........."trying to keep your spirits up and your fever down, and I knew someday that you would fly away,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,for the love's the greatest healer to be found......some leave me if you need too, I will still rememeber Angel flying too close to the ground........."

That guitar of his is so unique and has such a haunting sound.

Pat Green - Wave on Wave

    Artist:Pat Green
    Album:Wave on Wave
    Title:Wave on Wave

Mile upon mile got no direction,
We're all playin' the same game.
    We're all looking for redemption,
Just afraid to say the name.

So caught up now in pretending,
That what we're seekin' is the truth.
I'm just looking for a happy ending,
All I'm looking for is you.

You came upon me wave on wave
You're the reason I'm still here, yeah
Am I the one you were sent to save?
You came upon me wave on wave.

I wandered out into the water,
And I thought that I might drown
I dunno what I was after,
I just know I was goin' down.

    That's when she found me
    I'm not afraid anymore
She said ?You know I always had ya baby
Just waitin for you to find what you were looking for.?

You came upon me wave on wave
You're the reason I'm still here.
Am I the one you were sent to save
When you came upon me wave on wave.

    Wave on wave
    Wave on wave

And you came upon me wave on wave
You're the reason I'm still here.
Am I the one you were sent to save
When you came upon me wave on wave.

The clouds broke and the angels cried
    You ain't gotta walk alone
That's why he put me in your way
And you came upon me wave on wave.

Now if I can find the lyrics to (NOT) The Bride!

You Can't Take The Honky Tonk Out Of The Girl

    [ Brooks & Dunn lyrics ]

Connie came back from her second cousin's wedding
First time she'd been home in 'bout a year or two
Just in time for the rehearsal dinner
But that crazy Connie wasn't wearing any shoes

    [Chorus]
She lives in L.A. she flies to New York City
That woman's been around the world
You can take that girl out of the honky tonk
But you can't take the honky tonk, can't take the honky tonk
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

Well the dinner broke up at about 11:30
And the boys went off to do what boys will do
Connie said come here girls we need to huddle up
Around something that's a hundred proof

    [Repeat Chorus]

It's nine a.m. in front of the church
People are going nuts just looking for the groom
And by the way where's Connie
She's run off with that boy in Cancun

    [Repeat Chorus]

Dum de de dum, de de dum, de de dum, de de da da.
Dum de de dum, de de dum, de de dum, de da da, la la la.

Well, I walk into the room passin' out hundred dollar bills.
An' it kills and it thrills like the horns on my Silverado grille.
An' I buy the bar a double round of Crown an' everybody's getting down,
An' this town ain't never gonna be the same.

'Cause I saddle up my horse an' I ride into the city.
I make a lot of noise 'cause the girls, they are so pretty.
Ridin' up an' down Broadway on my old stud, Leroy.
And the girls say: "Save a horse, ride a cowboy."
Everybody says: "Save a horse, ride a cowboy."

    Well, I don't give a dang about nothing: I'm singing an' bling-blanging,
While the girls are drinkin' long necks down!
An' I wouldn't trade ol' Leroy or my Chevrolet for your Escalade, or your freak parade:
I'm the only John Wayne left in this town.

An' I saddle up my horse an' I ride into the city.
I make a lot of noise 'cause the girls, they are so pretty.
Ridin' up an' down Broadway on my old stud, Leroy.
And the girls say: "Save a horse, ride a cowboy."
Everybody says: "Save a horse, ride a cowboy."

    Instrumental break.

    "Well, I'm a thoroughbred."
That's what she said in the back of my truck bed,
As I was gettin' buzzed on suds, out on some back country road.
We where flyin' high, fine as wine,
Having ourselves a Big and Rich time
An' I was going, just about as far as she'd let me go.
But her evaluation of my cowboy reputation
Had me beggin' for salvation all night long.
So I took her out, gigging frogs,
Introduced her to my old bird dog
An' sang her every Willie Nelson song I could think of.
    An' we made love.

    What? What?
"Save a horse, ride a cowboy."
Everybody says: "Save a horse, ride a cowboy

    George Strait-photo

    I Hate Everything Artist:George Strait

He was sittin? there beside me
    Throwin' doubles down
When he ordered up his third one
    He looked around
    Than he looked at me
    Said I do believe
    I?ll have one more
He said I hate this bar
    And I hate to drink
    But on second thought
    Tonight I think
    I hate everything

Than he opened up his billfold
    And threw a twenty down
And a faded photograph fell out
    And hit the ground
    And I picked it up
    He said thank you bud
I put it in his hand
He said I probably outa? throw this one away
Cause she?s the reason I feel this way
    Why I hate everything

    Well, I hate my job
    And I hate my life
And If it weren?t for my two kids
    I?d hate my ex-wife
I know I should move on
    And try to start again
But I just cant get over her
    Leavin? me for him
    Then he shook his head
And looked down at his ring
And he said I hate everything

    Said that one bedroom apartment
    Where I get my mail
    Is really not a home
    It's more like a jail
    With a swimmin? pool
    And a parkin? lot view
    Man its just great
I hate summer, winter, fall and spring
Red and yellow, purple, blue and green
    I hate everything

    I hate my job
    And I hate my life
And If it weren?t for my two kids
    I?d hate my ex-wife
I know I should move on
    And try to start again
But I just can't get over her
    Leavin? me for him
    Then he shook his head
And looked down at his ring
And he said I hate everything

So I pulled out my phone
    And I called my house
I said Babe I?m commin? home
    We?re gonna work this out
    I paid for his drinks
    And I told him thanks
    Thanks for everything
