Go Rest High On That Mountain ~ Vince Gill

    I know your life
    On earth was troubled
And only you could know the pain
You weren't afraid to face the devil
You were no stranger to the rain

    Chorus:
Go rest high on that mountain
Son, your work on earth is done
    Go to heaven a shoutin'
Love for the Father and Son

Oh, how we cried the day you left us
We gathered round your grave to grieve
I wish I could see the angels faces
When they hear your sweet voice sing

    Repeat Chorus 2x

I heard that too, Lilacs, and when he preformed the song, he was very teary eyed.

Yes,Vince did write that one in memory of his brother.

Here's some new country, from Cross Canadian Ragweed

BROKEN (Mike McClure / Cody Canada)
    the "purple" album

Ain't it true what they say
    Every dog has his day
    I never had mine
    I guess it was time
Send me on down the line
    One piece at a time

    She got her way
I bet it made her day
Through me off to the side
Took me out for a ride
Kicked me down to the curb
Now for all that it's worth
    I'm lookin' to find
    One that's broken like mine

    Chorus:
    Broken like mine
    Or some piece of mind
I'll be happy when I find
    A love less unkind
    Broken like mine

I wish I was in her shoes
    With nothin' left to lose
    Carry myself down
To the lonely side of town
Tell her just how I feel
I need something now that's real
Don't you tell me that love is blind
A heart ain't got that kind of time
    Unless it's broken like mine

    (Repeat Chorus)

    Alright Guy ~ Gary Allan

You know just the other morning
I was hanging around in my house
I had that old book with picutres of Madonna naked
And I was checkin' it out
Just then a friend of mine came to the door
She said she never pegged me for a scumbag before
Said she didn't ever want to see me no more
    And I still don't why

I think I'm an alright guy
I think I'm an alright guy
Well I just want to live until I gotta die
I know I ain't perfect but God knows I try
I think I'm an alright guy
    I think I'm alright

This one time for medicinal purposes they forced me to smoke some dope
I'm pretty sure I can still be the President
But I dont think I'll ever get to be the Pope
Well I get wild and I know I get drunk
It's not like I got a bunch of bodies in my trunk
My old man used to call me a no-good punk
And I still dont know why

I think I'm an alright guy
I think I'm an alright guy
Well I just want to live until I gotta die
I know I ain't perfect but God knows I try
I think I'm an alright guy
    I think I'm alright

You know just the other night
The cops pulled me over outside the bar
When they turned on their lights
And they ordered me out my car
Man I was only kiddin' when I called 'em a couple of dicks
But still they made me do the stupid human tricks
Now I'm stuck in this jail with a bunch of dumb hicks
And I still don't know why

I think I'm an alright guy
I think I'm an alright guy
Well I just want to live until I gotta die
I know I ain't perfect but God knows I try
I think I'm an alright guy
    I think I'm alright

A Lot of Things Different ~ Kenny Chesney

Id spent a lot more time out in the pouring rain without an umbrella
    Covering my head
And Id stood up to that bully when he pushed and called me names
    But I was too afraid
And Id gone on and saw Elvis that night he came to town
    Mama said I couldn't
And I'd went skinny dipping with Jenny Carson that time she dared me to
    But I didn't
Oh I, Id done a lot of things different

I wish Id spent more time with my dad when he was alive
Now I don't have the chance
And I wish I'd told my brother how much I loved him before he went off to war
But I just shook his hand
I wish Id gone to church on Sunday morning when my grandma begged me to
But I was afraid of God
I wish I would of listened when they said boy you're gonna wish you hadn't
    But I wouldn't
Oh I, Id done a lot of things different

People say they wouldn't change a thing
    Even if they could
    Oh but I would

There was this red dress she wanted one time so bad she could taste it
    I shoulda bought it, but I didn't
She wanted to paint our bedroom yellow and trim it in blues and greens
But I wouldn't let her, it wouldn't of hurt nothing
She loved, to be held and kissed and touched
But I didn't do it, not nearly enough
And If Id have a known that dance was gonna be our last dance
I'd asked that band to play on and on, on and on
Oh I, Id done a lot of things different

People say they wouldn't change a thing
    Even if they could
    Oh but I would, ooh

Oh I, Id done a lot of things different
Oh I, Id done a lot of things

I think we'd all do a lot of things different.

Dede,I'd been intending to post this anyway...thanks for reminding me.It really is a great song.I know what you mean,too-sometimes it's seems like every song was written just for you, because it voices something that was on your mind and in your heart.
