My dad passed away at the hospital today after a lengthy illness. He was 84 years old.
Some of the folks here have known for awhile that he had been ill, and they have been very supportive. I appreciate all the kind words and support that I have received.
My dad was a hard-working and exceedingly generous man. He always put others before himself.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I too, lost my father some years back and he died of a sudden heart attack. My prayers are with you, Jack.
