Hi!
I'm shamelessly butting this back up with updates:
I've *sweet talked* with condo office to have the two condos side by side, facing pool area. This way we can keep the get-together at the condos, and have access to the hot tub, picnic tables, etc. (The pool's closed, btw). It should be around 70 degrees, if sunny.
I was wrong on size of condos. They're 1,500 & 2,000 square feet respective, so plenty of room to roam. A mile from the ocean.
Pattio & I will be there much of the week - most people who've emailed me will be coming in towards the end of week - Thurs or Fri.
Easy-going style food for get-together. There is ice machine by pool, grill & tables.
As time gets closer, I'll post exact address & phone numbers - plus location. It shouldn't be that hard to find, close to the MB airport.
Whatcha think?

Waiting, I'm hoping that I will still be able to make it. But I will not know for sure until after the 23rd.
My dear sweet son has to go to court. He went camping the other week with a few adults(if you can call them that) and other teens. At 4am I wake up to loud banging on the door. I open it to see 4 police cars in my driveway. My son was Drunk!
Anyway, I've asked Officer Norris (a friend of mine) what will happen to my son in court. He said that most likely he will get a few weekends of community service. If that's the case, all my weekends for the next couple of months will be filled.
Shari
Ahhhhhhh yes. I remember raising teenagers - not too fondly sometimes either. However, if your son can be "nipped in the bud" - well, that ain't too bad either.
Better drunk in a campgrounds than be drunk and driving - if either is really better.
Keep me posted, ya hear? Would be lovely if Pattio & I could meet you! Well, the others too

Hi Lilacs,
My sympathies! Having raised three boys with a liking for the beer, I know of whence I speak!
I hope you'll be able to make it, though! Waiting and I would love to get to know you. BTW, have you seen the thread of the comparison of you and Meg Ryan? There really is!
Pat
Waiting, Patio,
I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If he does get community service it will be on the weekends since he works during the week. If that is the case, not only will I miss the aposafest but I will also miss the extra money from working my weekend job for however long it takes him to complete it.
Kids never think of the consequences. I explained to him the morning after that this is the reason I tell him he shouldn't do certian things. I told him that I am not trying to be mean, I just know what I'm saying because I've been there before or seen it happen to friends while growing up myself. I think maybe he understands now. Lets hope so.
Shari
hey lilacs,
I agree - kids don't understand consequences. It's like, "do it, then worry about it if caught." As you've said on another thread - it usually comes with age, but some people never get it.
This is what keeps parents alive while raising teenagers "This too shall pass."
Actually, I have some really good memories of my teenagers...at times. I loved it when they developed an adult sense of humor!
I really hope you can come visit......if not, perhaps we can have another get-together?

Wow Waiting! It's not too late for folks to make some arrangements to come, eh?
There's still plenty of room folks--it'll be great! It's such a beautiful area and the accommodations are five-star!

I just found this thread. This is where I used to live. If the GT is still going to be at DeBordieu, my niece works there. She's a Georgetown County firefighter, goes to school for nursing, and works part-time in the restaurant. I don't know if you "all" remember me talking about her in a few of my posts. She was really manipulated by my mother into getting baptized at age 12. But after mailing her LOTS of info from this site, (250 pages to be exact) she's decided to leave the truth. She just celebrated her daughter, Olivia's, birthday for the first time. She's 3. I got pics!
If you guys would please say HI to her if you see her, it would make my day! I've told her so much about the people here. How much I've been helped. I know she would be so surprised! She's tall, with long dark brown, beautiful hair. Her name is Stephanie Chanel.....I won't give out her last name. I would love it if you could ask for her. And leave her a big tip!!!
I'm so jealous now. I'm in Chicago, and could never make it in time. But I was raised in Charleston, lived in Georgetown and Andrews (a one-horse town...), Columbia, and Laurens. Charleston is so beautiful!
A word of warning, though.....get ready for the smell of International Paper!!
It's something you'll never forget.....LOL
Love.....

Hey Tat,
Yeah, I remember you talking about Andrews. Lol - everybody kids about "Beautiful Downtown Andrews." Btw, they've widen the main street & tried to clean it up some - does look better.
The MB Apostafest (I prefer *gathering* myself) will be held at condos in MB - 7 miles from airport on Saturday. Would it be possible for your neice to come there? Her child is welcome too.
Ages will be from 25 to 60, around 12-15 of us.
As I mentioned, my daughter lives at DeBordieu and is 31. She's also the stepmother of 19 yr old twin girls & 22 spoiled rotten girl (all off to college). She's a good one to chat with - and talking about her life experience as a jw is still new to her. She tries to hide that little fact from most of the people she meets. Go figure, eh?
Email if you'd like - I'll send my daughter's name & email to you. Perhaps you do the same - that way, they can link up. Btw, my daughter & her brothers will be at Apostafest.
The more the merrier! Gawd, I sound old.
