    Hillary,

I have no funeral plans for myself. (still a JW deep inside maybe! lol)

For the last week of my father's life I helped care for him. He was a lover of music and so in his room I kept soft music always playing.

One particular piece though was given preference: Rodrigo's "Fantasia para un Gentilhombre", played by Segovia.

That music wafted out the open window of my father's bedroom, over the flower bed, and across the yard where his small grandchildren played unknowing of the approaching death which had prompted the playing of that particular piece.

If there is such a thing as a "good" death, my father experienced one. He went to sleep with music and family all around him.

I've always been partial to a song from "Aspects of Love" by the much-maligned Andrew Lloyd Webber - 'Hand Me The Wine and The Dice'

    GIULIETTA:
    George was an original man.
He did not want to change human life.
He rejoiced in the way we are made.
He rejoiced in the way we are made.
He did not look forward to heaven --
He was happy with the earth.
    He loved and understood
    The flesh, food, wine, love...
He lived for today and firmly believed:

If death were given a voice,
That voice would scream through the sky:
Live while you may for I am coming...

    So...

Hand me the wine and the dice,
    I want my carnival now,
While I have thirst and lust for living!

So gather all you can reap,
Before you're under the plough --
The hand of death is unforgiving!

Hand me the wine and the dice,
While there are grapes on the vine --
Life is a round of endless pleasures!

The end is always in sight,
But it tastes better with wind --
Why pay your life in tiny measures?

Hand me the wine and the dice,
The time is racing away --
There's not a taste that's not worth trying!

    And if tommorow it ends,
    I won't have wasted today --
I will have lived like I am dying.

The problem will be to make sure your requests are honored

My father-in-law wanted "I did it my way" played. They decided not to honor that and played crap like The old ragged cross" instead. They felt too embarrassed to play what he wanted.

I thought of this last night while ironing shirts and burst out laughing....hubby thinks I've gone over the edge.

Would it be too much trouble, if I die before Ted Jarascz, to have my ashes sprinkled atop his breakfast porridge?

Hmmm Well if I go to Iraq and get waxed well then I want STAR BANGLED BANNER!

THE JIMI HENDRIX VERSION! And I want it cranked so loud that all the car windowss in the cemetary break! Then for a finale I would have to go with Paradise City by GNR- becuase thats where I plan to go!

Hmmmm there is some 60/70s song too....Spirit in the Sky?????

'Going up to the Spirit in the Sky, thats where im goin' to go when I die,

When I die and they lay me to rest, Im goin' to go to the place thats the best "

Something like that, I dont know who sings it but it rocks!

"Gotta have a friend, thats a must! Gotta have a friend in Jesus..!"

I know it sounds like some 700 Club song but its not!!! Electric Guitar and everything! Lots of Wah-wah effects...

You would not be the first innocent that he has eaten for breakfast.

What would I like played at my funeral?

First I would have a brother conduct a talk at the gravesite (since they can't have a service at the hall for a wicked Apostate). I would make sure my wife invites all my dub friends and family.

Next....once the talk begins.....I would have one of MY buddies who would do the sound play:

    "MY DINGALING", ..by chuck berry.

Actually, I feel this way as was already stated: Quote:

I have lived .....somewhat......quietly and want to go quietly. No service or false sorrow. Cremate me and dispose of me in the least expensive least emotional manner that is possible.

I would like to have a picture however......of a cute little blond with me in my urn.

    LOL Hillary.

Perhaps not. But with any luck, he would choke on a bone fragment and I would be the last.

    Touche.

    Everybody's Talkin' (Echoes) Michael Ball

    Everybodys talkin at me

I dont hear a word there sayin

Only the echoes of my mind

    People stoppin starin

    I cant see their faces

Only the shadows of their eyes

Im goin where the sun keeps shinning

    Through the poring rain

Goin where the weather suits my clooooths

Bankin off of the north east wind

    Sailin on a summer breeze

    Skippin over the ocean

    Like a song.
