    Not prayed for years now...not noticed any difference.

    I would prayed if it mattered. Prayer may help the person feel better, but it sure doesn't change matters. Thinking about it, if g/God answered prayers he/she/it is pretty unfair and evil. Why answer prayers for one group of people and not the other. More on that somneother time.

    I have succumbed a few times to prayer since I have become a devout atheist. In my weakness, I know that the universal ubiquitous un-deity, who neither hears nor answers prayer, has forgiven me.

    When I was a devout JW, Jehovah never forgave me for all that masturbation I succumbed to.

    Isn't it nice to finally be forgiven? <sighs>

    p.s.: don't you just hate the word 'succumb'? Notice how different the dictionary definition is from the JW connotation:

    To submit to an overpowering force or yield to an overwhelming desire; give up or give in.
