Well,I think it's safe to say that the last several comments were very instructive, especially those that have been courageous enough to share personal events about themselves and their subsequent observations. I thank those courageous posters sincerely for adding a voice of experience to the discussion.
That human sexuality is complicated with many overlaps is not only evident, but is illustrated in the fact that profesionals are willing to rubber stamp most any practice to avoid hurting someone's feelings. Consider the APA's assinine comments:
"The American Psychological Association appears to have similar sympathies when it published a sloppy and error-filled article in its Psychological Bulletin in July 1998, arguing that there is no research documenting that sexual child abuse is harmful to children and that "a willing encounter with positive reactions would be labeled simply adult-child sex".
So, even professional organizations are willing to ignore children's and parental rights in order to affirm the "right" of child molesters. That is a truly disgusting indictment on them. According to the reseacher, the gay/lesbian community had this response:
....."There was no outcry from the homosexual community. Indeed, they either remained silent or publicly defended the article. One of the nations most prominent homosexual journalists, Andrew Sullivan, attacked critics of the study in the New York Times. In the National Journal, gay journalist Jonathan Rauch strongly defended the study and argued that child molestation should be called "adult-adolescent sex."[56]
Now before we dismiss this as just a couple of nut cracks consider more of his arguments:
"G ay activists have spun the Scout molestation epidemic as a heterosexual problem. Examination of many of the higher profile cases, however, reveals that Scout molesters are attracted exclusively to boys and many lead mainstream gay lifestyles. John Hemstreet is a typical example. Hemstreet is a convicted child molester, former Boy Scout leader, and currently the President of the chapter of Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG). PFLAG is one of the groups leading the nationwide attack on the Boy Scouts of America" [13]
"The most comprehensive gay networking website, the Queer Resource Directory (www.qrd.org), links every gay group in the country including NAMBLA and other homosexual groups that focus on youth. NAMBLA marches in gay pride parades with the consent of the gay leadership. Many of the homosexual movements most prominent leaders endorse NAMBLA and its goals".
I logged on just to see if it was true.....and there it was being advertised bigger than dog shit on a hot Texas day.
"L eading mainstream homosexual newspapers and magazines such as the Advocate, Edge, Metroline, The Guide, and TheSan Francisco Sentinel have not only published pro-NAMBLA articles and columns but also many have editorialized in favor of NAMBLA and sex with children. The editor of The Guide, Ed Hougen, stated in an interview with Lambda Report, "I believe they [NAMBLA] are generally interested in the right of young people to be sexual . . . . I am glad there is a group like NAMBLA that is willing to be courageous." The San Francisco Sentinel was more blunt: "NAMBLAs position on sex is not unreasonable, just unpopular".
So, all things considered it does seem that the charge of "unfair" and "homophobe" rings a little hollow to the ears of critics. Naturally, no one wants to be biggoted....especially ex-jw's since we all evbidently had our fill of biggotry in the WTBS.
However, the evidence of molesters exploiting overlapping sexual behaviors and characterizations to their advantage is over whelming and beyond discussion in my opinion. The apparent fact that many gay leaders support the cause is beyond a social outrage, it is a societal cesspool.
The idea that once a person has sex with a young person below the age of consent, he changes his sexual identity from hetero or homo into a singular status of "molester" is ridiculous. It is clear from the posters with experience that they are both. Some are in all liklihood, even bi-sexual + molester.
So the question is not someone's orientation when they molest but rather why the gay/lesbian community is not more out-spoken in their condemnation of molesters. Why do they allow them to march in their parades? Why do they allow their struggle against biggotry to make room for sympathies for the molester cause? Why do they accept their donations and political support?
And, these are the exact same questions we are asking the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.
Some may say, "Well, they don't represent me" I can appreciate that stand. Where is the outrage against
them then? If any lurkers are reading this thread, and rest assured they are, what will they think?
Some may of them may reason, "The apostates have nothing to offer. They are willing to cry crocodile tears when the society fails to report molestation to the police when not required by law; and yet, the apostates fail to be outraged when public, openly politically motivated molesters attach themselves to organizations they feel are doing the right thing. What hypocrits! They don't care about children....they only care about destroying the Society!
A review of many of the posts on this thread reveals that many appeared to be far more concerned about a possible case of biggotry than the thousands of children molested by people associated within the Gay/Lesbian cause.
