Farkel, Ill try your recommendations. Here are some of mine:

For inspiration - Respighis Feste Romane with Lorin Maazel Conducting.

For shear beauty - Puccinis Un bel di, from Madama Butterfly with someone like Leontyne Price or Renee Fleming singing it.

Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush - Don't Give Up (The words in this song are all about the value of true friendship, kept me going years ago when I was at my most suicidal)

Morcheeba - Love can stop your fears (very soothing)

Sinead O'Connor - Universal Mother album (extremely beautiful and poignant listening)

Leftfield - Leftism (uplifting soulful music, my favourite)

Woob (unusual drumming and choral music with 17th century theme)

    The Orb (dance music)

All Irish and Cornish sea shanty and footstomping folk music with fiddles, didges etc)

    Tool (heavy metal)

    Slipknot (heavy metal)

    The Levellers (folk)

Off the top of my head, thats about it.

It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday - G.C. Cameron (from the 'Cooley High' soundtrack).

Go see the movie and then listen to the song and more than likely you will cry.

    (A 30-second sample: http://www.cdnow.com/cgi-bin/mserver/SID=500005706/pagename=/RP/SHARE/soundclip.html/UPC=0121576762/disc=01/track=21/source=wmf )

Boys II Men did a remake, also.

    The lyrics:

How do I...say goodbye...to what we had?

The good times that made us laugh...outweigh the bad.

I thought we'd get...to see forever...but forever has gone away.

    It's so hard...to say goodbye...to yesterday.

    .......

    I don't know...where this road...is going to lead to.

    All I know...is where we've been...and WHAT we've been through.

If it gets...me to tomorrow....I know it's worth all the pain.

    It's so hard...to say goodbye...to yesterday.

    .......

And I'll take...with me the memories...to be my sunshine after the rain.

    It's so hard...to say goodbye...to yesterday.

I just remember someone speaking of you playing the piano , Farkel. I would love to listen to you.

I love , I love, to hear an artist play live music. I would probably fall on the floor , holding a pillow tightly, crying ever so softly , ( hope you would have some kleenex) that piece of music does it to me ever time. Learning to play the piano was one of the things I wanted to accomplish in the "new world". Well poo, guess I will just have to learn myself, cant wait on God to help my untalented self now. Lets see, if I start now, I am 35, by the time I am 100 I should be able to play Mary had a little lamb. That is if I am still alive, and not riddled with arthritis.

It must be a wonderful feeling to be able to express yourself thru the piano or the musical instrument of your choice. It just seems like it would take you to another dimension, and give you such a feeling of power . I hope someday Farkel, hubby (wild turkey) and I can hear you play.
