  You think that logic and evidence will win this argument? You can present any logic, and evidence along with faults in the Genesis account, and it will still not be enough for the typical fairy tale believer.

  Any person that believes that God made millions of animals fly over the ocean to reach the middle east in order to be packed in a wooden box with a handful of humans for a few years, will not respond to common sense.

  As far as they are concerned, even if it's logical that sunlight reached the earth from the very beginning, they will say that God had magic curtains around the earth to keep it dark. Why? Because there is a book that says so, that's why.

  One other note here, when Occam's Razor says the simplest explination is often the most likely - simplest doesn't mean the least amount of steps. Simplest means the answer with the least amount of assumptions. And I cannot think of a bigger assumption than an all powerful God.

  It's the non-typical ones that we hope start to question and truly think and they're definitely out there and on here, sometimes lurking for years, learning how to ask hard questions and get real answers that have nothing to do with magic. :)

  what this news item tied together the existence of energy in the void past present and future and the ACCELERATION of the expansion, which seem to require ever more energy input/release/ supply.

  we can nor really inderstand the 'before' or 'outside' of the universe, the 'void', but there it is being talked about with instability of the void, virtual zero-sum energy fluctuations, happening all the time.

  Prologos is probably talking about dark energy, as usual Prologos doesn't really understand what s/he is quoting.

  The universe doesn't expand into a void, it's the universe itself that is expanding. One hypothesis (Prologos talks about this as if it is accepted scientific fact) is that dark energy is the thing that keeps the universe expanding, it is supposed to do this by providing a balancing negative force to the energy equations. Without this negative energy the equations don't add up to a stable universe. This is because an expanding universe would mean that energy is constantly being created. Dark energy is a fudge factor for a mechanism we don't yet understand.
