    Hey itisme, may I ask then, do you think that the almighty, Jehovah, is directing Jehovahs Witnesses through the governing body?

    Shakespeare may have said it best: "This above all: to thine own self be true,"

    exactly. Thank you. I know who I am and why. If someone else wants to slap a title on that so be it.

    itisme:

    About the field ministry - It is the duty of the GB and the annointed ones to urge us all about the field ministry - as some publications admitt, this ministry was given to them, we are just helping them out. And my personal duty is to try to make myself happy. So I go in the field ministry as much as it makes me happy, and as much as I am joyfull about.

    -An organization that instructs and tells women to treat their rapist respectfully, and a woman is guilty of everlasting death if they do not scream/yell/cry out when being raped: http://savedfromthewatchtower.blogspot.com/2008/11/what-would-watchtower-society-have.html

    -Children of various ages such as 2, 4, 12, 14, and 15 years old - DEAD - all because of following an organization who they/their parents/guardian are led to believe is speaking for God: http://savedfromthewatchtower.blogspot.com/2010/04/blood-guilty.html

    -1961 = Organ Transplants = Conscience choice.
    1967 = Organ Transplants = Cannibalistic.
    1980 = Organ Transplants = Conscience choice.

    People died for no reason outside of arbitrary thoughts on life and death matter. No apology, no "we were wrong", just post a 180 degree policy change under "Question For Readers": http://savedfromthewatchtower.blogspot.com/2008/11/in-questions-from-readers-section-in.html

    -Covering-up and essentially lying about utilizing and referencing a known practicer of spiritism in support of their doctrine and teachings: http://savedfromthewatchtower.blogspot.com/2008/11/influence-of-johannes-greber.html

    -Claim that - "the truth" (which they placed in quotes and is the loaded language used by the members that refers to the teachings/beliefs of the organization) - has become part of the Bible: http://savedfromthewatchtower.blogspot.com/2008/12/watchtower-part-of-bible.html

    -Inserting the business originating term "governing body" into their latest version of the Watchtower Society's Bible as a valid reference: http://savedfromthewatchtower.blogspot.com/2013/10/a-new-bible-revised-2013-new-world.html

    -Elders, after praying, *will have* God's view: http://savedfromthewatchtower.blogspot.com/2013/01/elders-view-is-gods-view.html

    The list goes on-and-on. If first century Christians were anything like the above, that is truly sad. The Watchtower Society accepts no blame and is never sorry. It is always "some brothers", "some chrisitans", "some may of had the wrong view". Never, the "governing body was wrong" or "we are sorry". They change doctine and flip-flop with no apology: http://savedfromthewatchtower.blogspot.com/2008/12/flip-flops.html

    Trebor,

    that is why the BOrg needs people like me and "itisme", to bring some balance and perspective to the R&F with whom we are friends

    there are many like us that dismiss the WTS's dogma and just enjoy the close comradery of our friends. I like going to parties and seeing freinds from 20 years ago, still married, happy kids, etc. Not everything is perfect but those of us that have worked this out for ourselves have a great circle of freinds and know how to stay away from the "crazies" and uber-dubs

    wallsofjericho and other moderate JW's visiting this thread, kudos for allowing yourself at least an internal freedom. I take it you feel no obligation to confess personal failings to the elders? Do you have any friends outside the Witnesses?

    correct and yes

    I have absolutely zero obligation to share anything I do or feel with elders, they are just people like everyone else. I either like them or I don't, not as elders, but as humans.

    I actually have a few elder friends that feel much the same way I do and I have shared my thoughts with them about the WTS. It's VERY liberating to find ones in higher ranking positions that also see the WTS for what it is but use it to better their lives anyway. It can take years for these ones to "feel you out" to see if they can truly trust you. Once your there though, you have an unimaginable bond. Of course the uber-dubs are always shocked to find out that you, an inactive "weak" JW, are good freinds with elders that give talks at District Conventions. It's very confusing to the fully indoctrintated to see this and I LOVE IT!

    yes I have friends outside of the JW's and they all know my true feelings about the WTS and they could care less. This amazed me initially. JW's are raised to feel like the whole world is watching you and knows everything about you and are trying to trick you away from Jehovah. Then you discover that few people know anything about JW's at all and could care less what religion you are as long as you are a nice person.

    its not the easiest life I live, but who has an "easy life" 100% of the time? We all have our crosses to bear. All things considered, I think I have it pretty good compared to most

    Losingit, life after divorce and Dfing is a challenge. It's lonely and hard work. Going back to a safe place is always my fantasy...but that perceived safe place was dangerous.

    Building a life without a social network is tough and takes a long time. I am still trying to build my life and it's hard too Losingit....it's hard for me too.
