JW.ORG CAMPAIGN AN UTTER FAILURE!

There are 7,782,346 active publishes in the world.

Jw.org has received an estimated 7,639,900 visits over the last 30 days. The number of visits differs from visitors (or unique visitors). Visits includes multiple visits from the same individual (repeat visits).

So.. if we assume each member visits jw.org just once a month this alone will account for the websites total visitors. The truth is that vast numbers of these members probably visits the site easily 10 times a day every single day (repeat visits) and on multiple devices so these visitor figures plummet drastically.

So.. yes jw.org is being heavily promoted but mostly only among themselves. The world on the other had really does not seem to give a dam.

Add to that the number of people on forums such as this one who visit the JW website to find fault with it or to confirm what others have said about inappropriate content. 'Visitors' to a site does not automatically mean 'support'.

It seems to me that this 'campaign' is not so much about only promoting their website, but also (and maybe mainly) to influence the method of getting to their website. They want people to go directly to their website, bypassing search engines that might return 'undesirable' results.

    Very true dismember....

If this campaign was really effective, then the number of new visitors should be in the billions!

After all, hasnt every witness distributed a few hundred tracts each?

The world on the other had really does not seem to give a dam.

They just don't give a click.

And of the non-JW visitors who, out of curiosity, go there to see what it is, they notice that god-awful JEHOVAH'S WITNESS scrip at the top of the page and break half a dozen fingernails trying to click outta there.

Dis-Member your figures are far from the truth. In the month of august the average number of daily visitors was about 1.8 million unique visitors a day. The average number of pageviews per day was between 10 and 20 million a day.

That assumes the main purpose of the canpain was to attract non jw's to the web site. I would argue it was busy work for dubbies, yet another "campain" to distract from the dreary "regular" ministry and to reinforce in the physke of the average dubbie the progressive rebranding of the org to its web site moniker. Overall it was rousing success in that respect.

    Yes, very true justnowout....

These campaigns are more about control of the average jw, than recruiting new members....

Can somebody break down what the real truth about this site is? The claims seem to go radically in both directions as to unique visitors.

Unfortunately, most JWs wont see it that way. They'll simply see the number and be awed at how Jehovah is speeding up the work. Impressive numbers that demonstrate growth are how they validate their religion. As with all other "growth" reported by the WT, they don't realize how badly the numbers are skewed.
