I ask myself, "What kind of desperate and ignorant person would read more than one or two paragraphs of any such website and feel a fire

of longing to receive further indoctrination?"

FOR A CONTRAST, just take a look at SCIENTOLOGY.ORG and see which website YOU find more compelling?

    I mean, as long as we're investigating cults . . .

Give a look at MORMON.ORG too.

It is pretty obvious which cult is the more appealing. (Hint: not JW.org).

I think the Scientology website is positively dazzling, energetic and alluring compared to the murky blandness of the JW.org

Yeah, but Scientology doesn't have Caleb & Sofia!

Good lord, you'd think the JWs surpassed Pixar, the way they gush on & on about "Caleb & Sofia".....

    Here's a fun case study:

    http://www.scientology.org/faq/scientology-and-other-practices/is-scientology-a-cult.html

    http://www.mormon.org/faq/mormon-church

    http://www.jw.org/en/jehovahs-witnesses/faq/are-jehovahs-witnesses-a-cult/

All three start off by trying to re-define the word cult. The mormons take an interesting approach, though, by basically accepting that some people actually have good reason to call them a cult.

They will never declare that the GT has started. The reason being, is that THEY BELIEVE THEY ARE THE CHANNEL OF GOD. They actually believe that. If they were to make that claim, the game is over. That is a card that they can NEVER play. They can move the goalpost all they want, especially after some more old timers die off in the next decade, but they can NEVER say the GT has started.

What happens when they say that and then NOTHING happens???? Will they say, " Evidently, Jesus meant that the GT hasn't started...."??? Uhh, NO. Even they can't take the heat that a screw up of those proportions would generate, not in the Information Age.
