Mormons look like they are growing because they still count everyone who resigns. They arent actually growing and are shrinking in the uk.

Mormons are the fastest growing religion, but they had the nerve to bash them at the RC. They said that the mormons are winding down the door to door because it is "not effective" and are moving to social media. (this was followed by a derisive laugh from the crowd) He said that "we know that the door to door is most effective, because its the way Christ did it" I think it is insane to criticize another cults techniques when they have more members and are growing faster than you.. Maybe they should get a clue. Its obvious their preaching is more effective despite being batshit crazy too.
Here are some reasons Mormons may have more members
1. No denial of lifesaving medical treatment
2. No discouragement of higher education (think BYU)
3. No discouragement of money or succesful career
4. More activities and programs for kids and teens
5. Better, more spiritual, worship filled atmosphere
6. Better music- Have you ever seen the Mormon Tabernacle Choir?? the JW music is terrible piped in stale music.
7. They help poor or sick members with giving them food and money when they are down and out
8. No prohibition on Birthdays, Holidays,
9. No discouragement of afterschool clubs, sports etc
Of course they still have shunning for disagreeing with church doctrine, and that is wrong, but these are just some of the reasons I know of why they are a far more attractive option for a person than JWs are, and why they grow much faster and retain more members despite having even stricter moral stadards (eg- no alcohol or caffiene)
Jws make fun of the LDS for banning caffiene and alcohol, but guess what? These are not life or death issues. Blood is. Organ Transplants were. The no civilian service doctrine cost people their freedom. Which is worse.
