This is upsetting. Of course the branch will do nothing to compensate the families. one woman and 4 children. this is the result of blind obedience. Crossing the river at flood stage? It's too dangerous to even search for the bodies. They never stood a chance.

This is typical of the arguments I have had with some in the cong!

They love the experiences of how god saved a person who stood up for the 'truth', and how ones who gave up work for a conventions etc...

BUT they don't say how god decided not to save these ones this time!

the argument doesn't fit! Either he saves his people or he doesn't......

This sad story will no doubt go with the list of many other sad stories you will never read about in the yearbook.

When something tragic like this happens they cry "time and unforeseen occurrence".

When someones chickens are saved they cry " praise Jah".

    Total lunacy.

Oh darn it! If only those five Witnesses had planned NOT to go to the convention and had died on way to a Caribbean holiday instead - perhaps with some "worldly" companions! Then the GB would have ensured their bad example and outcomes were publicized in the Yearbook as a warning to the faithful.

As it is, the GB has absolutely no use for their deaths - for in combination with making their way to a convention, it doesn't look theocratically useful as a lesson on the perils of not going to conventions.

Very sad. Possibly the locals will be thinking that they must have been secretly practicing sin and big J punished them by letting them drown! Ah! the many mysterious, contrived stories that the WTBTS will spin off this tragedy.

    just saying!

    Terrible :(

I bet that experience doesn't make the Yearbook
