    He appear powerful, holy, punishing angry and jealous in the OT.

    In the NT in form of Jesus, He appears kind, loving, meek and

    forgiving.

    How do you reconcile the powerful Dieity of the OT that ordered the

    destruction of countless cities with the kneeling Jesus who defended

    the adulterous woman???

    Is this another bad decision by God, like the flood. Maybe a learning

    experience at the expense of thousands...

    It's obvious that God made a complete turn around in his dealing

    with mankind..Why?? One can not say he is the same as in the

    beginning.

    If you find out how the idea of god really developed, you'll understand it better. http://www.amazon.com/Evolution-God-Back-Readers-Pick/dp/B005DI6I8W

    You Wanna Be Starting Something don't you, Jam?

    OT - Deity-Destroyer

    NT - Human-Reclaimer

    The god of the NT is a ruse but still the god of the OT.

    OT god: genocide of local desert nations

    NT god: genocide of the human race at Armageddon.

    The NT god just stepped up his game a bit.

    I have heard that the god of the old testament was too mean for the western world, so they gave him a facelift so they could make him more acceptable. This new diety is not kind, loving, forgiving. According to the o.t. he was there in the heavens with the father when all the killing was done. They went to work to move this along so that they could control the population, turn the other cheek and so forth. They revamped a lot of the new testament to fit, first of all saying that he was the son of Joseph and tracing the lineage back. Then they decided to revamp that and said he was born of a virgin named Mary. Ha ha ha ha. So funny. And easily shown how they plagerized this from Budda as he came out of a lotus bud. Maybe it wasn't him, but one of them that they plagerized from. And just look at the pictures and artifacts of ancient history. Mother and child. Mother and child. Jesus and Mary? Two thousand years ago? Ancient pictures are thousands of years ago. Besides, Christianity was forced on people, either get baptized or off with your head. Maybe both.

    snowbird, it's Sunday and I didn't go to Church today, so

    a little Bible discussion won't hurt. Maybe God will

    speak to me this beautiful southern California day or

    he may tell me, I will not waste my time with you, you

    are hopeless...LOL

    God has already spoken, my brother.

    Revelation 19:13-15.

    Or, is it 16?

    Too hot to look up passages.

    Anyway, we will know all one of these fine days.

    Blessings.

    I don't think ? the Jews consider anything but the first five

    books or the Torah, to be the word of God.? The rest is

    history, prophets and a various stories. The Psalms are

    full of beauty and positive hope. Its not all doom and gloom.

    Psalm 23 for instance.

    Psalm 23
    American Standard Version (ASV)

    A Psalm of David.

    23 Jehovah is my shepherd; I shall not want.

    2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures;

    He leadeth me beside still waters.

    3 He restoreth my soul: He guideth me

    in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

    4 Yea, thou I walk through the valley

    of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil;

    for thou art with me;

    Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.

    5 Thou preparest a table before me

    in the presence of mine enemies:

    Thou hast anointed my head with oil;

    My cup runneth over.

    6 Surely goodness and lovingkindness

    shall follow me all the days of my life;

    And I shall dwell in the house of Jehovah for ever.
