This was in the paper Wednesday - in South Africa - Durban. Which is quite surprising as our papers usually do not carry stories like this.

This is a prem baby - now 6 months. The Dr's had to obtain a high court order to allow the procedure.

The baby had to have a blood transfusion as it could not absorb the mother's milk and supplements cannot be used because of his tiny body.

The parents refused to give their consent and was on life support so the Dr submitted to the court that this was an infringement on the

child's right to life. So the courts said the Dr's can go ahead and give the blood as their private beliefs could not be allowed to override

the child's right to life and that the religiouis beliefs of the parents are not that of the child.

Elders then said "The sin is upon the doctors who gave the blood and not the parents or the child"

Oh cold can one be!! what a shame - shame on their god jah and shame on all the jw's! they should read their own bible -as they were about to sacrifice their child to baal.

Last time I checked, a six month old baby isn't a Jehovah's Witness. If you don't want to take blood transfusions fine but you made that choice for yourself. Don't force your child that can't even walk yet to conform to your beliefs.

The WBTS should be made to pay the cost of these unnecessary legal proceedings which as was pointed out was simply a way to remove any WBTS imposed guilt ont he parents for allowing the transfusion. Another example of them beign a parasite on worldly society.

This is the modern version of child sacrifice.

It's quite scary to think that any of us who were born into the religion may have met a similar fate at any point during our childhood, presuming our parents practiced strict adherence to JW doctrine.

"The sin is upon the doctors who gave the blood and not the parents or the child"

Yes, the great sin of using the 'life giving properties of blood' to save a precious child.

I imagine the parents will be looked upon as such strong pillars, but are secretly thrilled that the courts kept their baby alive.

The parents should have the child taken away from them.

Yep the parents are so happy that the decision was taken out of their hands - so now they have their baby - healthy and well and the Dr's are to blame!

They will be on the platform soon - giving their experience. What strong witnessess of jah!

How could you look your child in the eye, knowing that if it wasnt for "Satans system" stepping in, you would have let them die. So evil
