How has Jesus Christ been ruling since 1914

Well, here is a breif list to shut your apostate mouths forever .

1., he raised up C.T Russell as the first president of the IBSA , OK ,he hadnt returned just then , but he was going to, soon. Apparently W.H. Connelly was actually the first president before Russell , maybe he didnt quite measure up. At this time obviously the newly enthroned Christ Jesus didnt want his latter day followers to be identified as jehovahs witnesses . 1914 came and went without Russells expectations coming to fruition

2.After the failed expectations / predictions under C.T Russell , who was obviously inspired /directed by Jesus Christ he moved that Joseph Rutherford was to succeed him as president of the now WTB&TS .Now we are going to see some real fullfillments of bible prophecy in our day. J.Rutherfords famous lecture under divine inspiration from Jesus of course " Millions Now Living Will Never Die " given about the year 1922.Another famous talk given by J.F Rutherford who was obviously a mouthpeice for jehovah/jesus , being the only religion God was using to dispense truth in the world was that 1925 was the year more definetly identified than 1914 as the year the resurrection of the faithfull men of old would occur , and we would house tham at Beth Sarim .We who were faithfull kept looking for this to take place up until the 1950`s

I welcome other comments on what Jesus Christ has accomplished in his rule since 1914 as regards jehovahs witnesses .

3.Jesus Christ has apparently appointed Nathan H. Knorr / Fred Franz as president of the WTB&TS to give truth at the proper time , but even since their time we have multiple changes to our understandings and interpretations to our beleifs , which beggars the question , is Jesus Christ really directing our organisation ?

    Smiddy....

Both Russell and Rutherfraud believed Jesus had already returned- in 1874. They were not looking for his return in 1914. Russell was looking for Armageddon in 1914. In fact, the 1914 date as Jesus' return was not officially changed in WT literature until 1943, although it had become accepted in practice before that change. Both Russell and Rutherfraud went to their graves believing Jesus had returned in 1874. So how could they be his "faithful slave"? They had no idea when their Master had really returned (according to revised WT doctrine) and therefore were not looking for him.

WT has implemented revisionist's history to hide the fact that the entire foundation of "god's organization" is hopelessly flawed and proves without doubt WT is not, could not, and has never been, "god's organization".

*** ka chap. 11 pp. 187-188 par. 7 "Here Is the Bridegroom!" ***

7 From that understanding of matters, the "chaste virgin" class began going forth to meet the heavenly Bridegroom in the year 1874, as they believed him to have arrived in that year and to be from then on invisibly present. They felt that they were already living in the invisible presence of the Bridegroom. Due to this fact, when Charles T. Russell began publishing his own religious magazine in July of 1879, he published it under the title "Zion’s Watch Tower and Herald of Christ’s Presence." He had already become familiar with Wilson’s The Emphatic Diaglott, which translated the Greek word pa·rou·si

′ a as "presence," not "coming," in Matthew 24:3 and elsewhere. The new magazine was heralding Christ’s invisible presence as having begun in 1874. This presence was to continue until the end of the Gentile Times in 1914, when the Gentile nations would be destroyed and the remnant of the "chaste virgin" class would be glorified with their bridegroom in heaven by death and resurrection to life in the spirit. Thus the class pictured by the five wise virgins would enter through the door into the wedding.

Very true ADCMS , however I was hoping that some apologists/beleivers could enlighten us skeptics as to what exactly has the enthroned king Christ Jesus accomplished this past 100 years , and can we look forward to more of the same for the next 900 years ?

he created a nation with millions of citizens,.. he added about 1 million of them every 10 years. He made them stop serving that warmongering satan,.. he made them stop killing people in wars and armed conflicts,.. he made them stop doing things that are considered unhealthy like smoking long before other nations began banning this bad habit out. he managed to overcome racial problems and bounderies that divide the world and gathered a nation that is united from among all over the world.

It is interesting that the Society writes off Colossians 1:13 as evidence that Jesus bagan to rule in the 1st Century by saying that he was only ruling over his congregation. Yet, in the quote above, which is cited as evidence that Jesus has been ruling since 1914, all the things mentioned have to do with ruling over his congregation.

    • (Colossians 1:13 rNWT) . . .He rescued us from the authority of the darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son. . .

For additional Scriptural reference concerning when Jesus began to rule (and whether it happened in 1914):

    • Compare here (various verses concerning when Jesus began his rule), and here ( for how parousia or "presense" is spoken of in relation to Jesus), here (regarding the phrase "The Kingdom of God/Heaven has drawn near"), and here (regarding Ps 2:7 and its application to Jesus).

@ emeth. Really? You are aware, of course, that the WT was NOT neutral in it's early years, right? You do know that smoking, blood transfusions, "worldly" holidays, "pagan" practices, etc. were all a part of "god's organization" and his "pure worship". So, if that's what god wanted, why did he allow decades to go by before 'instructing' his people about what they should be doing????

He made them stop serving that warmongering satan,.. he made them stop killing people in wars and armed conflicts

Read to OT, emeth. God has no problem with killing, wars and armed conflicts. In fact, the entire history of Israel is a record of his god-sanctioned genocides and murder. And, don't forget god's upcoming Armageddon, where he relishes the murder of billions of people.

    .

Finally, if god "made them" [Jehovah's Witnesses] stop serving Satan (your words, not mine), it doesn't sound like a free choice. Sounds to me like god forced them...which is usually the only means by which god gets his way. By the way, emeth, JWs are not the only religion that are neutral to war, do not smoke and are united.

Smiddy, to answer your question: the first 100 years of Jesus' rule are unimpressive. Upon his enthronment as King, the very first thing that happened is Satan won- by starting WW1 and imprisoning Rutherfraud and 8 other WT big wigs, and by WTs admission, for all purposes shut down the preaching work. Then Jesus had his "organization" publish a series of false prophecies that made them a laughing stock of the entire world. Jesus also doesn't seem to know what he believes, for he keeps changing his mind by having his "sole representitives" on earth frequently flip-flop on key doctrinal teachings, which often contradict themselves in absurd ways.

    .

If the first 100 years are a preview of the next 900, it should be a bumpy, unimpressive ride of uncertainty and frustration.

Emeth, you JW do not serve Jesus, but man-made publishing house printing irrational religious doctrines and failed prophecies. Did Jesus choose a church that does not do any charitable work, lacks such basic feelings compation and love, and protects pedophiles and baby rapists? What JW and WT had accomplished that is admirable? I remember teaching of generation 1914 that will never die. Almost all of them are gone. You got new light? So from where the old light came from? If it was lie than it came from Devil because God could not lie? So you JWs serve who? Devil! Ha
