Curious why God confused the languages back in Nimrods day for all that they might accomplish working together...building "tall" buildings etc...

I mean have you seen some of the sky scrapers these days?!? wtf? Why does't he fracture spoken language some more to stop all this fricken technology.

And now with google translate anyone can talk to anyone ;-)

Come'on Jah, you got to stop this crazyness.

The entity on this planet which can communicate to the entire world in every language existed even before the Internet.

It is called; "The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society".

Now contemplate this scripture from the Book of Revelation:

    Revelation 17:15

And he says to me: "The waters that you saw, where the harlot is sitting, mean peoples and crowds and nations and tongues.

Heh, of course JWs say that the height of the tower of Babel was not the issue, because how could God be threatened by a tall building when he's not living in the sky? It's just that they were too united in their general attitude of rebellion against God, and thus had to be confused to break up the rebellion.

Of course, it's a weak attempt at a band-aid on what is obviously a story about people trying to raid heaven by climbing into the clouds like they're storming a castle. Such rationalization is the burden of being a Biblical literalist in the modern age.

jw's use language and pneumonics as one more way to confound the masses. If you take the steve jobs approach....Once people figure out that the people making the rules are NO SMARTER than you and I....THEN and only then will we begin to contrute to the world and give back.

The highest form of defense mechanism is humor, and then altruism.

If you read the account the real reason for god's action is apparent: 'if I (god) do not destroy their unity, there's no limit to what man can accomplish'.

    .

    (Genesis 11:5-7)

5 And Jehovah proceeded to go down to see the city and the tower that the sons of men had built. 6 After that Jehovah said: “Look! They are one people and there is one language for them all, and this is what they start to do. Why, now there is nothing that they may have in mind to do that will be unattainable for them. 7 Come now! Let us go down and there confuse their language that they may not listen to one another’s language. . .

The Bible is littered with instances where god was angry when humans accomplished great things without him, so god, in his childish tantrums, destroyed human efforts.

"Let us go down there..." shades of Polytheism here.

    Here is the WTS concept

    *** w89 8/15 p. 19 par. 18 Paradise Restored Glorifies God ***

In the restored Paradise, everyone is a friend to everybody else. The bonds of the worldwide family relationship are felt to the depths of each one’s soul. All understand one another. They are speaking a common world language. It is likely mankind’s original language, which everybody on earth spoke for the first 1,800 years of human existence—from Adam’s creation in 4026 B.C.E. until Peleg’s day (2269 to 2030 B.C.E.), for “in his days the earth [that is, earth’s population] was divided.” (Genesis 10:25; 11:1)

***Worldwide security ws chap. 21 p. 176 par. 11 The Garden of Eden Restored—Earth Wide ***

Will the earth-wide Paradise suffer from the confusion of having many languages? No, because the “Prince of Peace” is also referred to as the “Mighty God.” (Isaiah 9:6) Thus he is able to reverse the confusion of language that began at the Tower of Babel. (Genesis 11:6-9) What will become the common language of all the earthly children of the “Eternal Father”? Will it be the original language of the first Adam, the language with which Jehovah endowed him? Likely. In any event, all language barriers will be wiped out. You will be able to travel anywhere and communicate with people. You will be able to understand them, and they will be able to understand you. There will be one language for all mankind, and it would be appropriate for the entire Bible to be available in that language. (Compare Zephaniah 3:9.) In that language all the earth will be filled with the knowledge of Jehovah “as the waters are covering the very sea.”—Isaiah 11:9.
