We used to have an elder that taped paper over the mirrors in the womens rest room. He also had the speakers wired so the sound was cut off to the bathrooms during the meeting "to prevent loitering".

Remember when they used to cover the mirrors in the ladies rooms at assemblies? That is where he got his "ideas".

Ugh! They really should put MORE mirrors up, and full length ones, in the bathrooms so that these things don't happen:

    Thats great Billy! LOL

The joke was on him though....(that super controlling elder)...

it was found that he had a Playboy stash which he kept hidden in a desk in the library at the Kingdom Hall. I guess he thought it was safe from discovery there!

So when he told his wife he was going to the Kingdumb Haul to do some paperwork, his paperwork was grabbing the porn and heading for the ladies room.

Oh, and WRT the OP, the haul I was from originally was able to connect only 2 listeners so they would try to limit who could connect. Later they got a conference line. I think they might have tried to restrict it, but the old folks would try to go when they should stay home. Their access code was common knowledge and they sure wanted to be able to count as many as possible, so I can't imagine that they would try to restrict access in any way.

I know they pulled that attendance card on a brother I knew who had a heart condition and no way to attend. He had no car and was in a chair. The Hall was old and the bathrooms weren't handicapped accessible. He couldn't get his chair in the bathroom. Two days after they cut him off from the meeting tie-in he had a heart attack and died from the stress. He wrote me a letter detailing how unloving the elders were that came to tell him this news and it was mailed by the sister he paid to clean his house. She found him dead and saw the letter and mailed it anyway. I believe I posses his last letter. He still donated 10 thousand from his estate to the society.

When we were going, 2011/2012 (?) everyone had access to "the code." It did not change every week, it stayed the same. At first, when they actually got another phone line, about only 2 or 3 people could 'call in.' But when they expanded, the amount of callers was limitless. Soooooo many people called in, haha, that is why they probably started restricting!

Yeah I saw it around here too. One congregation had probably over half of its publishers listening over the tie-in because of laziness. I went there to give a talk and was surprised at how many people weren't there.

It started happening in my old hall. People starting listening to the tie-in just because. They eventually changed it so you had to be 'approved' to get the tie-in info. They approved the older sick people, which is fair in my opinion.

Local baptist churches upload sermon video and notes same day.

No special code, no paranoia over attendance versus stay at homes.

Established Christine "at home" get togethers each week - called life groups... Choose your place to be.

    Serious.

Yep that is a WOW factor. Seriously, what is the point of denying any member a link like that? My beef was always that the borg spends far too much time, effort and resource on trying to convert instead of actually caring about the sheeple they already have. The elderlies are like folk that wanted to be a cop but made security instead - you know just so they could wear the jacket and make rules.

I guess I have been out far too long (yay) and have never heard of a listen in version of the church. Shame.

oh well, so someone cant listen in, yay, they get a night of mental rest. for how many years did there not exist a phone tie in?? people simply read the meeting info at home, now all of the sudden its some forbidden fruit?

gosh who cares, its the SAME CRAP every week.
